District Sales Manager

-3+ years managing multiple stores with a sales focus environment
-3+ years of industry experience, as a salesperson or manager in fashion retail
-Passion for women’s fashion mandatory, but experience in the industry is optional
-Bachelor’s degree or higher strongly preferred
Willingness to travel is strongly preferred
-Ability and/or experience successfully developing and executing on a vision
-Exceptional experience/skills to recruit, build, develop and retain a talented team
-Phenomenal motivator of people
-Strong ability and desire to train and develop store leaders
-“Presence” – Has the charisma and intangibles; Sensitivities to his/her environment
-Experience with, and understands the difference between ----
-Managing and Leading. Have skill sets to perform both at a high level
-Ability to think both practically (action-oriented, tactics), and strategically (analysis, use of data and numbers), both long-term and short-term
-Ability to deal with, and lead through setbacks
-Successful ability/experience selling directly to consumers in retail environment
-Understands psychology behind the art of selling
-Ability to make things happen on their own, especially in an ambiguous, unstructured environment with little to no direction
-Decisive: ability to analyze situations quickly and make decisions in ambiguous situations
-Willing to roll-up their sleeves and do the nitty-gritty, including opening stores, selling to customers, if necessary
-Comfort with a fast pace, change and a willingness to potentially take calculated risks
-Drive and passion, coupled with a very strong work ethic (weekends and nights)
-Ability to multi-task and complete multiple tasks at once
-Scalable: Ability to grow in capability from managing 3 stores to 20 stores and beyond
-Passion for women’s fashion - someone who would be an AKIRA customer
-Coachable and collaborative: A great communicator and listener
AKIRA is looking for a hands-on, highly sales and service-driven District Manager. This individual will be responsible for the sales and operations of our stores. This position has incredible growth potential. We are looking for the eventual leader of all AKIRA store managers and store personnel.
AKIRA’s distinct competitive advantage/differentiator in the women’s fashion industry is its customer service and selling culture. Every store employee works primarily on commission-based selling, developing client relationships, and building a loyal following and clientele base. In short, the District Manager will be leading an “Army of Sales-Fanatics” .
