Job description

A Contemporary Apparel Brand in Los Angeles is seeking a creatively savvy and entrepreneurial Design Director to lead their Footwear Division!

In this role, your exceptional taste and knowledge of the complete footwear production lifecycle will give you the upper hand in successfully launching a trendy, sellable, seasonal footwear line for the brand. Working in collaboration with the brand’s Vice President and Creative Director, your stellar communication, research, and leadership skills are also a must for this exciting, essential position.

You will:

•Research trends, bringing a fresh, on-trend vibe to the line; present findings and sketches to the VP and Creative Director
•Own and drive the complete design process from inception to production
•Work with Accessories Division to ensure brand consistency
•Liaise with vendors and factories regarding materials, hardware, treatments, and trims
•Take on additional projects as needed

Profile

You have:

•    At least 5-7+ years of Footwear Design experience
•    Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design
•    Expert proficiency in Adobe CS and Microsoft Office Suite
•    Ability to handle both the creative and technical aspects of the design process
•    Exceptional collaboration skills
