Main purpose of the Jr. Merchandising Analyst role:
This is a permanent full time role for a candidate who is driven by analytics, but also has a love for the fashion industry.This candidate will help the buying/merchandising department by providing strategic insights, product performance reporting, and a strong grasp of the evolving product market. Along with managing our current processes, this individual will help identify new and innovative ways to think about merchandising and inventory planning.The right candidate will thrive in a fast paced work environment and will embrace solving complex challenges. This position requires an out of the box thinker who can collaborate with the existing team and across all levels of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Develop top down, category level planning and reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly level
•Ensure plans align with company wide goals and manage the reconciliation on a regular basis
•Track progress to targets and adjust plans and/or buys as needed
•Style depth guidelines based on seasonality, assortment trends and sales
•Deliver weekly business reports that offer fact-based summaries of performance and facilitate decision-making
•Recommend long-term strategies and company priorities through in-depth analytics and critical thinking
•Synthesize department level reporting and communicate clear reporting insights to leadership team
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
•Strong work ethic to excel in a fast paced environment
•Advanced knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office, with focus in Excel
•Ability to demonstrate logical thinking and problem solving skills
•Ability to articulate thoughts and findings both orally and in writing
•Comfortable working in a very collaborative, creative, fast paced, and agile environment
•Comfortable sharing concepts and taking feedback from a very passionate and involved team
•Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to keep abreast of current and future fashion trends
- Up to 3 years of quantitative analytical experience with a proven track record of achieving successful results from data-mining large databases
- Solid Experience with designing and building spreadsheet models
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree required
- E-commerce apparel experience
- SQL experience a plus
- Interest in contemporary, aspiring-luxury, and luxury fashion a plus
- Knowledge of premium and luxury fashion brands
