Job description

- Actively pitch and respond to press inquiries including local and national/international print, broadcast, and online media
- Handle all photography requests for journalists and publications including photography credits
- Create targeted media lists for specific book topics (fashion, design, art, lifestyle, travel, gastronomy, jewelry...)
- Responsible for all book requests and recording
- Responsible for all press recaps for authors and books
- Planning press strategies, including strategic book launches and events
- Monitor all press activity
- Set up executive interviews with authors
- Draft, edit, and format communication documents - press release, media alert, brand statement
- Collect and follow up with upcoming and obtained press
- Manage, oversee, and update weekly press report
- Manage file archives
- Draft, edit, and format communications documents, including press releases, media alerts, brand statements, and staff biographies
- Maintain press database and record daily updates
- Create targeted media lists for specific book topics
- Facilitate all press mailings, including biannual hardcopy catalog
mailings, event invitations, and emailed press releases and media
alerts using email marketing service
- Manage PR coordinator and PR intern

- Work closely with the event manager for US & international events
- Distribute invitations and events to press
- Responsible for creating and distributing media alerts for all events
- Responsible for organizing, facilitating, and follow up for all press interviews surrounding the event
- Photographer liaise during the event and responsible for obtaining images after each event

- Align with the social media manager & marketing team


  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Must work well as a part of a team 
  • Ability to perform within a fast-paced, multi-priority setting and a passion for the PR industry. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook or Entourage), Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Meltwater 
  • 4 years’ experience working in Public Relations /Communications, preferably in luxury brand environment 
  • Interest in culture, art, and fashion is highly recommended 
  • Knowledge of French is a plus
