Sample Maker (Sewing)

Job Title: Sample Maker - Manufacturing Services
Status:Hourly – Non Exempt
The sample maker is responsible for cutting and sewing samples to be used to check production quality and in customer presentations.
•Create all sample garments to specifications and required standards
•Mark and cut fabric according to specifications
•Follow patterns and design specifications to sew parts of new styles
•Press garments and prepare for presentations
•Work directly with the sample coordinator, the pattern maker and the technical spec writers as well as with other sample makers
•Gather notions needed to produce the samples.
Skills and experience
• Minimum of 3 years of sewing experience
• Strong sewing skills
• Knowledge of fit, construction, sewing techniques and fabrications
• Must be able to read and understand the garment specs and create the samples
• Ability to operate and experience with all sewing machinery
• Ability to operate hand irons.
• Pressing and hand-sewing skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Willingness to follow directions
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Microsoft Word
• MS Outlook
