Primary function Art directs and directs video for various enterprise channels with a strong understanding of the Target brand, and delivers creative results tailored to business goals. Principle duties & responsibilities The Senior Art Director/Director, Video is responsible for establishing the conceptual and/or stylistic direction of motion workPartners closely with art directors, copywriters, producers, and others to create content for screens of any size, anywhereGuides all artists, internal and external, who help create or develop specific parts of the work (i.e. edit, graphics, VFX, music)Unifies the vision and makes decisions regarding the overall visual appearance while collaborating with creative partners across the enterprise on the content and story flowDirects talent on set, both on-camera and crewUnderstands and contributes to technical, equipment, lighting, budget and scheduling recommendations to support producer partnerAdvocates for and understands digital and social implications of creative solutions and takes partners to ensure the guest narrative is seamlessReporting & working relationships Reports to Director, Creative, Meetings & Motion Media.Internal partners within Target Creative, enterprise-wide collaboration including senior leadership, and vendor partners Minimum job requirements 4-year college degree and/or equivalent experience 5-7+ years experience Reel or portfolio demonstrating a strong understanding and application of art direction/directing Authentically and thoughtfully communicates and provides clear direction to internal and external partners to develop and execute creative work Acts fearlessly and takes smart risks Ability to handle high pressure/stressful situations in a professional mannerOpen to feedback with ability to take direction. Action oriented with ability to prioritize and drive resultsSoftware: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoshopDesired job requirements Can act as a Director of Photography for appropriate video shootsExperience with Adobe Premiere and After Effects
