As a member of a high performance team, you will be responsible for a variety of jobs. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the production of ophthalmic lenses, which includes, degating, inspection, inking, and packaging. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Job experience will be considered in place of a high school diploma or GED. The ability to pass an eye exam. Manual dexterity. A mix of standing and sitting is required. Some lifting up to 20 lbs. required. Anyone 18 years or older may apply. General Function: Maintain, install and repair a variety of complex electrical systems and equipment required to operate and control production machines and building facilities and ensure compliance with required codes and regulations. Gentex Optics is a manufacturing facility that operates 24 hours per 7 days a week. This position will be required to respond to the facility during un-scheduled work hours. Troubleshoot and diagnose problem and develop corrective action. Perform repairs within jurisdiction and inform supervisor of need for larger repairs. Perform electrical preventative maintenance (PM) on production equipment and inspect wiring and circuits for appropriate shielding and grounding. Install PM readings in computer and update PM sheets. Design or modify controls to upgrade existing equipment and improve safety and productivity. Make recommendations regarding new equipment, plant layout and other maintenance matters. Perform all building maintenance of an electrical nature including fire, evacuation and emergency lighting systems. Ensure maximum energy conservation. Make designs and layouts and ensure accurate records, prints and documentation. Monitor work of outside contractors and ensure compliance with requirements, codes and regulations and Gentex company policies. Cover FLR for breakdowns. Maintain an adequate inventory of parts and supplies to ensure prompt response to equipment breakdowns Maintain necessary records. Report improper operation of faulty equipment and unusual conditions to supervisor. Maintain work area and equipment in clean, safe and orderly working condition. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations. Maintain quality standards. Greet, engage, and assist customers warmly, creating a welcoming environment and providing personalized service to enhance customer shopping experience. Process transactions accurately and efficiently. Handle customer inquiries, returns, and concerns with professionalism, promptness, and care. Support store operations by assisting with tasks such as store fulfillment, curbside pickup, pricing, promotional sets, product processing and placement, and visual merchandising. Maintain visually appealing selling areas, merchandise presentation standards, accurate signage, fitting rooms, and cleanliness through daily recovery and stock replenishment. Leverage training tools, use resources, and embrace feedback to continuously build skills and strengthen performance. Stay informed of products, promotions, policies, and store events to deliver accurate information to customers and enhance service. Contribute to a positive store culture by building connections with teammates, sharing knowledge, and celebrating individual and team achievements. Follow asset protection procedures, safety guidelines, and security protocols, supporting store shortage control, inventory accuracy, and minimizing risk in designated area.
