The Painter will determine whether surfaces need to be sanded or patched before applying paint, and will then clean, sand, patch, prime and prepare areas to be painted. After the work of sanding, puttying or patching has been completed by self or others, the Painter will check surfaces before beginning the next phase of work. The Painter will mix paint appropriately to match colors and ensure the appropriate shades and maintains a safe, clean and non-disruptive work area; sets up scaffolding or ladders; determines exact amount of paint that will be needed and how many coats of paint to apply, and works independently and/or assists other Painters as assigned.
