About the Role
We are in an exciting stage of evolution as the rules of the retail industry are changing rapidly. We must deliver tangible value to our global company in every stage of our product lifecycle. The Gap Inc Product Management organization will do this through the relentless pursuit of great software experiences while considering operating advantage and positive community impact. The work impacts millions of customers worldwide that love our iconic brands of Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, and Athleta.

In this role, you will help define the product roadmap for our Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform and work closely with technology and business partners to drive new capabilities forward. You will collaborate with dependent product teams to ensure that the end-to-end implementation journey is thorough and thoughtful. You will write robust requirements, prioritize the backlog across different features and apps, and work closely with the engineering teams to deliver and test quality software.

The role requires a strong product mindset, combination of business savvy, customer centricity and technical knowledge. We are looking for experienced product managers that have an inquisitive nature and want to solve complex business and customer problems without boundaries.

This role is based out of the San Francisco office. Currently, job duties are being performed remotely. However, the Company may in the future require you/this role to be in the office on a full-time or part-time basis. Pursuant to Gap Inc.'s policy, all employees who wish to enter Gap Inc.'s San Francisco Bay Area, New York, and Albuquerque office buildings will need to be vaccinated, unless an exemption from the vaccine requirement is approved due to an accommodation for a disability or for a sincerely held religious belief.

What You'll Do
  • Drive the product strategy, roadmap development, and implementation of our enterprise DAM platform

  • Build relationships with key business stakeholders across brand and central functions

  • Partner closely with engineering, architecture, and technical program management to deliver the roadmap on-time and on-budget

  • Articulate product needs clearly and succinctly to different audiences to gain alignment

  • Manage a multi-phase roadmap across technical and functional capabilities for DAM and adjacent platforms

  • Ensure strong measurement and quantitative understanding of services - opportunities, benefits achieved, user pain points

  • Anticipate user needs and desired outcomes and articulates impact across products

  • Work closely with Change Management to support end users through various phases of technology enablement

  • Carefully measure the results of feature deployments to quantify the business benefit/impact, and identify further business opportunities

  • Identify new opportunities and develop technology solutions that drive value for Gap Inc., including analyzing competitors and market trends and evaluating new technologies and finding vendor that support future vision


Who You Are
  • 6+ years of experience in product management, engineering, or digital operations roles

  • Experience working with DAM, CMS, PIM, and/or photo studio applications

  • Experience working in a digital retail, media, or digital product development environment

  • Experience on projects with complex scope and with multi system integrations

  • Experience working with large software engineering teams both within and outside of your domain

  • Highly analytical and expert problem-solving skills

  • Detail-oriented and strong multi-tasking ability

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong oral, written, and formal presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas in simple ways to all levels of the organization

  • Data-driven mindset and track record of developing and measuring KPI's

  • Demonstrated technical acumen; ability to influence and debate solutions with technical team members, to understand technology solutions and potential tradeoffs and to represent technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated leadership of direct and/or indirect teams.

  • Ability to work independently; able to successfully operate in areas of uncertainty and ambiguity; self-starter and quick learner; calm and efficient under pressure

  • Be versatile and be able to prioritize/handle multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment with tough deadlines

  • BA/BS with emphasis on technical, analytical, and/or creative fields

  • MBA or Masters in related field is a bonus
