Job description

Provides generalist support to the facility in all areas of Human Resources. Recruits, sources and selects internal and external candidates. Assists with the Associate Relations function in ensuring effective programs for all associates. Administers Company policies, procedures and benefit programs. Advises all levels of associates on programs by providing counseling and one on one assistance. Provides training support to all levels of associates. Proactively develops relationships within the community and with outside sources to identify diverse talent availability during high staffing demands.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Conducts recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees;
- Establishes recruiting requirements by studying organizational plans and objectives; meeting with managers to discuss needs
- Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, media, and internet sites; providing organizational information, opportunities, and benefits
- Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.
- Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed
- Evaluates applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers; interviewing applicants on consistent set of qualifications
- Improves organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and perks
- Manages intern program by conducting orientations; monitoring intern job contributions; coaching interns; advising managers on training and coaching
- Accomplishes human resources and organizational mission by completing related results as needed
- Assists training department with train-the-trainer, ESL and other classes as necessary
- Assists with training of supervisors and associates on the floor
- Responsible for the "on-boarding" of all new hires
- Responds to external inquiries regarding a variety of Human Resources issues
- Supports Associate Relations by administering and advising all levels of associates on Company policies, procedures and benefit programs
- Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures; conducting training
- Responds to associate inquiries regarding HR related issues including employment verifications, clarification of information and follow-up on request documentation
- Provides counseling and recommends resolution to associate/supervisory issues.
- Participates in special projects as assigned

Profile

Bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience
Minimum job skills required to perform this job.
Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of basic HR functions (payroll, files and benefits), Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word preferred Knowledge of payroll systems preferred. (Kronos, Oracle)
Minimum experience required to perform this job.
2-4 years general HR experience
