Job description

As the Americas Benefits Manager you will be part of the Benefits Center of Excellence (COE) team within Nike's broad based Total Rewards HR function. With a primary focus on Latin America, Canada and select US programs you will be responsible for benefits strategy, design and financial governance. This position will be located at Nike's World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze benefit plan designs and financial impacts by collecting quantitative market and plan cost data with qualitative business considerations
- Expand analyses into conclusions and develop, recommend, and present benefits strategy/design proposals
- Lead project teams from the design to the implementation stage
- Handle service issues escalated by Benefits Operations team
- Participate in contract negotiations and arrangement of financial provisions of plans
- Independently manage vendor performance against Nike's high service expectations
- Work is performed independently under limited supervision
- Manage competing priorities and tight deadlines with confidence while maintaining strong partner relationship internally and externally.
- Keep current on the evolving regulatory landscape and ensure all programs and policies are compliant
- Stay up to date on market trends, business challenges, and priorities by gathering competitive market data and networking with industry peers

Profile

WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE
- Bachelor's degree in Business, HR or related field or an additional 2 years' experience in lieu of a degree
- Understanding of general HR principles and policies
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills
- A minimum of 5 years' related experience in benefits strategy and design
- Experience with global retirement plans, pension plans, medical plans, Life/AD&D plans, Disability plans, Paid Time Off, Work/Life benefits
- Must have deep expertise in at least 2-3 technical areas of benefits, but with a breadth of knowledge of all benefit programs
- Advanced communication skills and strong project management skills to navigate internal stakeholder management, cross-functional team interactions, inter-team dynamics and external vendor management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with a major corporation providing benefits programs of a scope similar to Nike's, and experience with Benefits in Mexico is helpful
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly with varied and multiple cultures, countries, regulatory, and market environments
- Spanish speaking is helpful
- Ability to travel, occasionally, including internationally
- Ability to think globally, strategically and objectively to effectively translate data into actionable insights, strategies and financial plans
