Job description

Oversees an efficient, productive, and safe operation in the Distribution Center. Ensures appropriate merchandise flow (volume and timing) to meet store needs at, or below, budgeted cost. Directs production resources to achieve budgeted volume for the building. Maintains a productive, positive, and motivated workforce. Models, supports, and ensures compliance to operational standards, company culture, beliefs, and values.
Organizational development
Actively develops Area Operations Managers & Staff. Evaluates talent, provides performance feedback, allocates time and resources, and fosters development opportunities to support the organizational planning process. Ensures performance successes are appropriately shared and celebrated. Ensures performance deficiencies are appropriately addressed. Defines the human resource requirements needed to achieve goals, standards, budgets, and KPIs.
Continuous Improvement
Reviews practices, methods and processes, and recommends improvement opportunities to achieve goals, standards, budgets, and KPIs. Leads the management team, directly and indirectly, in searching for improvement opportunities.
Sets parameters, develops goals, allocates resources, and establishes effective controls to achieve goals, standards, budgets, and KPIs. Develops strategies to be prepared for business challenges, as well as, changing business trends. Frequently compares trends with forecast to determine variances. Reviews plans and strategies regularly to ensure changes in forecasts and trends are anticipated and prepared for.
Monitors processes and direct reports through observations, reports, on-line data, and dialog to ensure compliance with network and building standards, practices and guidelines. Identifies non-compliance issues and individuals. Takes action as appropriate.
Builds effective relationships with business partners, i.e. Transportation, Planning, Store Operations, in order to anticipate business challenges and trends. Communicates regularly and tests for service concerns or issues proactively.
Develops and supports practices that enhance associate morale and maintain positive labor relations. Coaches others on how improve the work environment.
Minimum Formal Education Required to Perform this Job
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or Industrial Engineering preferred
