Bustle Digital Group is seeking a proactive, creative and brand-driven marketer to join our Brand Marketing team, focused on building integrated marketing programs and brand marketing materials while ideating new, revenue-driving initiatives across Bustle Digital Group's Culture & Innovation Collection (Gawker, Inverse, Input, and Mic).


As the Associate Director, Brand Marketing, you will take a leadership role in the development, creation, and communication of brand positioning across new initiatives, products and partnerships, creating ongoing solutions for advertising partners.

Job description

Overview

  • Brand Platforms, Events, & Partnerships: Ideate new sponsorable initiatives & events grounded in specific sites' brand ethos, managing the full opportunity & material rollout with customizations throughout the year
  • Editorial Initiatives:Collaborate with editorial on new concepts while creating materials aligned to the BDG editorial calendar, creating opportunities for brands & a cadence for rollout
  • Product Marketing: Support in developing the go-market packaging strategy for new products and partnerships -- working cross-departmentally to create and communicate to our sales org
  • General Presentations & Site Positioning: Develop portfolio-wide, general presentations and category-specific decks where required
  • Research & insights: Collaborate with our BDG Trends Group, uncovering insights to power the above, in addition to material creation for thought-leadership ideas for advertising partners
Responsibilities

  • Lead, create, and manage marketing collateral communicating each exclusive initiative, partnership, and/or program across the BDG portfolio
  • Be an ongoing collaborator with the editorial, experiential, social, and video teams to create strategic single and multi-sponsor marketing initiatives, expanding our offering
  • Strategic partner to our Client Solutions, Branded Content, Sales, and Planning teams - helping to customize and ideate for category-specific needs and approaches
  • Ensure all new initiatives are packaged appropriately from an internal margin perspective
  • Specific expertise in concepting and packaging materials for experiential a plus
  • Manage interdepartmental workflow to ensure that all new initiatives, products, and ideas are built and communicated across all BDG stakeholders and necessary teams
  • Understand and leverage insights to better curate exclusive opportunities backed by data
  • Stay abreast of industry & competitive news, unique advertiser programs and digital innovations, with focus on innovating BDG's offerings

Profile

Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years of digital marketing experience or digital strategy in a related field

  • Strategic and creative thinker with excellent verbal and written skills; ability to multi-task

  • Keen eye for design, image, story, and understanding of brand

  • Excellent creative writing and storytelling skills with an ability to execute visually impactful presentations

  • Strong communication as well as presentation skills; must be able to pitch ideas and onboard others toward a common strategic goal

  • True self-starter - provide proactive ideas, understand organizational goals, and move initiatives forward

  • Proficiency in Keynote, MS Office, SnagIt, and experience with research tools such as: Google Analytics, comScore, Quantcast, and/or Shareablee
