Job description

The Reporting Analyst provides support to the Merchant and Store Organization and is a member of a team of colleagues in the Merchant Operations Division. The primary role of the Reporting Analyst is to provide analytical support for merchant and store operations by providing timely and accurate execution of routine reports with efficiency & automation. In addition, the Reporting Analyst will assist in automating routine activities for other Macy's colleagues.
When new reports are requested, the Reporting Analyst is responsible for conducting research and soliciting feedback to gain an understanding of incoming requests to create meaningful and actionable reports. The Reporting Analyst will reach out to the merchant when necessary in order to ensure that their needs are properly met. The Reporting Analyst should be able to thoroughly analyze the request in order to find solutions to unique problems. The Reporting Analyst will learn advanced reporting systems acquired by Macy's and determine the company benefits of this system for current and future projects and make recommendations.
Essential Functions
- Gathering & assisting in prioritizing and documenting report requirements
- Complete meeting agendas and documenting key decisions, action items, report risks and issues management
- Provide report testing support
- Collaborates with the Implementation team and supports training efforts, including the development of best practice materials and on-site delivery to the end-users if needed
- Provides post-implementation support, including supporting the resolution of defects and actual "in-field" use of the ad hoc reports
- Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.
- Look for process improvement and inefficiencies whenever possible.

Other Skills:
- Bachelors Degree
- 1+ year of Retail Merchandising or Support experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of SQL programming. Experience in Google Cloud is a benefit.
- Outstanding data structuring skills and proficient in relational database management, maintenance, and design, specifically in Tableau, PowerBI, Excel or equivalent preferred.
- Detail-oriented with an affinity for systems knowledge and ad-hoc problem-solving.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Patient -- does not frustrate easily.
- Ability to relate to merchants, resulting in establishing credibility & trust.
- Strong follow-up, organization skills, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to learn and grasp new concepts quickly.
- Positive attitude, and willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs.
