Job Title: Business Intelligence Developer
Reports to: Business Intelligence Manager/Architect
Location: Lyndhurst, NJ
Summary of Division:
Rapidly moving Information Technology team responsible of delivering multichannel Business Intelligence solutions to meet the strategic needs of all brands within SPARC Group LLC
General Summary:
Support the strategic needs of all brands within SPARC Group LLC by contributing in the development of Business Intelligence solutions using MicroStrategy, Narrowcast, Teradata, and SQL Server platforms. Work with business users and IT teams in developing project scope and functional requirements and transforming these requirements using best practices into deliverables that meet the business requirements. The individual will also function as technical liaison and in-house expert of BI Systems
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Work with the business users to gather requirements and define project scope
- Analyze requirements and create functional/technical specifications and other project related documentation including system overview, test/QA scripts, etc.
- Design, develop, and test MicroStrategy reports and dashboards, and other application objects
- Perform MicroStrategy and Narrowcast architect, development, and administration tasks
- Design, develop, and test System Manager workflows and provide support
- Performs data analysis on report requirements and recommend solutions for development
- Performance-tune Teradata SQL queries and MicroStrategy reports
- Provide BI systems production support and daily monitoring of critical executive reports distribution
- Collaborate with end users, application support personnel and development staff when researching potential solutions and systems integration
- Work with onsite/offshore consultants
- Communicate with vendors in resolving production issues, software upgrades, and evaluations
- Coordinate efforts of both internal and external partners to source any needed data for customer targeting and segmentation
- Adopt and implement the project methodology as outlined by the program office
- Be able to work on multiple projects with multiple resources
- Provide end user support as needed
Position Requirements:
- 4 years BA/BS degree is required or the equivalent in work experience
- 5+ years information technology experience with at least 3 years of business (Retail Apparel) system experience
- Must have at least 5 years of experience working with MicroStrategy (including certifications)
- Must have experience with Narrowcast, Developer, Web and Mobile (System Manager experience is a plus)
- Understanding of BI metadata and Data Modeling techniques
- Experience in designing, development and automation of back-end processes using System Manager or scripting
- Experience with Customer Data Platform or CRM system is a plus
- OS: Unix, Windows, AS/400 (a plus)
- Databases: SQL Server, Teradata, Oracle (a plus)
- Must have proficiency writing SQL queries
- Experience with Informatica is a plus
- Highly motivated and ability to work with minimum supervision
- Experience in working with teams of offshore/on-site consultants
- Effective time management and organization skills
- Must have the ability to work under pressure with time sensitive constraints.
- Strong analytical and problems solving skills and experience in supporting and maintaining applications
