Job description

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for an exceptional Director of Color Tools + Assets who can bring their experience, problem-solving skills, and creativity to curate physical and digital end-to-end color design tools.
This role elevates the Nike color experience with a focus on both the art + science of Color by supporting the global color palette build, ensuring all colors are achievable across many partners (including but not limited to Apparel/Footwear/Retail/etc), and delivering functional color tools that drive seasonal color strategy.
The candidate needs to be a balanced left- and right-brained-thinker with a focused eye on translating creative direction in to functional deliverables that serve different partners in and out of the product creation process.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you, you'll be working with the Central Color Leadership team, Color Palette Conductors, and OPS while managing seasonal color palette data and curating digital and physical color design tools that support color on product excellence.
A typical day looks like aligning with Palette Conductors within Central Color to ensure accuracy of color palette data, building and managing relationships with third party color standards providers and internal color development functions, and driving the palette build process each season with a focus on generating more effective and efficient digital palettes + tools.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will be partnering with Central Color, OPS, GLAM, DPC and external partners in bringing to life the seasonal global color palette and tools/assets.
This role does not have direct reports and reports directly to the VP, Central Color + Central GFX.

Profile

WHAT YOU BRING
- EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in design, art or related technical field.
- EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of technical color + materials experience.
- Understands organizational and product strategies and priorities, as well as future trends, and fosters common goals across functional disciplines.
- Must possess a strong client focused approach to work.
- Effective project and resource management experience with a proactive approach to team specific issues.
- Ability to produce best-in-class color expression and palette creation tools (physical + digital)
- Ability to support and leverage Tools for digital enablement of the palette build.
- Ability to assist with Presentation and Meeting Tools, as needed.
- Understanding of the product creation process.
- Highly organized and efficient at managing competing priorities.
- Passion for Design.
