Job description

JOB MISSION:

The mission of the Global Store Development team is to provide end to end store process oversight, including creation of concept design, alignment, implementation and adherence to global store design concepts, and direction for construction processes. This position is based in Boston.

The Global Store Development - Project Manager Construction will serve as the subject matter expert, providing guidance and support, including format budgeting, auditing and continued evaluation of global project costs, yearly budgeting, scheduling, occupancy, and project close out processes. They should bring an enthusiastic, collaborative energy to the team. This position is based in our global corporate headquarters in Boston, MA.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Develop, establish and implement global construction project management strategy and standards, including preconstruction and post construction processes
  • Develop and manage global project tracking and communication plans with each region
  • Develop typical Construction communication guidelines (RFI, ASI, Change Order management and approvals) for use in all regions
  • Develop Punch Walk through and Project Close out documents and requirements
  • Potentially manage 3rd party project delivery resource
  • Lead and influence cross functional partners in support of project and program goals
CONSTRUCTION

  • Serve as advisor to cross-functional partners, with expertise in retail construction & regional/ global differences
  • Research and identify Cost Estimator for Global insight to construction project costs
  • Assist Regional teams with construction contract management (Scope & Selection)
  • Develop project build out cost goals for each store format, audit and evaluate regional construction costs and budgeting accuracy
  • Support yearly budgeting and financial planning for all construction projects (new stores, remodels and relocations)
  • Establish Tracking and reporting for all project spend (new stores, refits and relocations)
COLLABORATION

  • Work closely with Global Real Estate and Store Planning to support store growth each year
  • Partner with Regional Store Development teams to provide construction processes for all store projects and programs
  • Partner with Store Design to provide feedback and expert advice in finishes, constructability and detailing
  • Partner with Store Planning, Store Design, Sourcing and Facilities and Maintenance to continuously monitor and evaluate fixture and fitting performance, providing best practices and suggestions for alternate specs as needed

Profile

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Architecture or Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, experience and training
  • Prefer some sort of Project Management(PMP) accreditation
  • 6-8 years of experience in retail construction related project and program management
  • Fluent with architectural drawings, key trade works, construction terminology, and construction project management a must
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project) and experience in Accruent a plus
  • Expertise in reviewing construction contracts, bid processes and permitting.
  • Experience in Global Construction and Project Management preferred
  • Strong communication skills - written, oral and graphic, to effectively convey information to regions where English is a second language
  • Strong project management skills - including developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results
  • Proven problem solver with the ability to manage, organize and prioritize multiple tasks at once.
  • Some travel may be required in future - approximately 10-15 percent.
