Position Summary
The IT Change Management Lead is a Global position that is responsible for ensuring that IT programs, products, and platforms meet their objectives by infusing change management methodologies in their planning and execution, resulting in increased awareness, engagement, adoption, and usage with reduced friction and resistance. This position will focus on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles, and organization structures. The role will lead, educate, facilitate and champion change management and training activities across the IT organization as a key vehicle to achieve our strategy.

The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance to organizational transformation and growth. This role will work to drive increased awareness and understanding, faster adoption, higher ultimate utilization and proficiency with the changes that impact employees. These improvements will increase benefit realization, value creation, ROI and the achievement of results and outcomes for both the individual employee and the organization at large.

The IT Change Management Lead will act as a strategic advisory and coach for senior leaders in helping them fulfill the role of change sponsor; and can also provide direct support and coaching to all levels of managers and supervisors as they help their direct reports navigate through these transitions. The role will also support project teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

In this role, the Director will lead planning, strategy and execution of transformational change management for the global IT function. Proven successful track record in these areas is essential as is the ability to act as a change agent, influence broad populations and apply varied expertise to the right situations, assessing both short- and long-term needs and impacts. The Director will be expected to lead global, brand, functions and regional projects independently, coach others, and provide thought leadership and creative ideas to help evolve our IT organization.

  • Portfolio Management: 10- 20%. Managing relationships with the key stakeholders, managing the mix of internal and external resources, scoping organization design and change management work and initiative roadmaps.
  • Capability Building. On-demand tools and support. 15-20%. The director is involved in developing and deploying tools, tutorials, and frameworks to support the business and HRBPs, enabled by regular experiential training sessions and advisory support.
Other Responsibilities Include:

  • Define, Develop, and Deploy an ELC IT Change Management Framework leveraging the ELC OCM Methodology including the process, tools, and templates needed to systemically embed Change Management into how the IT team operates
  • Collaborate directly with the Global Communications team and other change management colleagues across ELC to incorporate and bring in best practices and common approaches to grow the maturity of the IT Change Management practice
  • Manage and oversee the New Process Activation Playbook and corresponding Change Blueprint processes to support IT Product, Platform, and Program Managers
  • Facilitate change management activities with cross-functional team members and stakeholders to understand and ensure adoption of the ELC IT Global Strategy and the Transformation Office.
  • Develop and support the execution of change and communications plans in collaboration with program, product, and platform teams to increase adoption and increased value realization
  • On a regular basis assess and report on the effectiveness of ongoing change or transformation programs and the change readiness of the organization to identify areas for improvement and/or changes in strategy to meet the objectives and mitigate risks
  • Educate and grow the capability of program, product, and platform managers to effectively leverage the ELC IT Change Management Framework and lead their change efforts directly
  • Evaluate resistance in adopting the change at the user, process, and technology level and develop approaches and strategies to improve adoption and receptivity to change and transformations for ELC IT. Identify creative solutions, "just in time" opportunities, and risks to the business or team.
  • Lead the creation and execution of change and communications plans for the Global IT Organization and for the IT Transformation Office
  • Lead the deployment and execution of change management work on the most critical and transformational initiatives
  • Develops and maintains a rolling stakeholder analysis of internal and external stakeholders, including historical context of change, biases, barriers, lessons learned, and pathways to success
  • Facilitates workshops or working session
  • Conducts Quality Assurance reviews of initiatives
  • Connects to ELC's change management network and adopts existing templates, frameworks and strategies to IT's needs, supplementing as appropriate.

Qualifications

Individuals in this role must have demonstrated abilities in relationship and engagement management with senior leaders, including project scoping, pitching and project management capabilities. Individuals in this role should be comfortable applying new methodologies to process and change management to achieve breakthrough results. They should embody a passion for problem solving and growth mindset.

  • Strong organizational, presentation, execution and analysis skills are needed. Must be comfortable and effective in an influential role where you understand how to influence leaders and employees with both logic and emotion for improvement, commitment and change. The Director must be both customer, business, process and people focused. Must be a demonstrated team player, open to feedback, and passionate about collaborating with a team to develop and adapt approaches that win in the workplace and in the business.

  • A combination of skills and experience of the following is sought: organization performance diagnosis, organization design (STAR model), systems thinking, process and/or design thinking, change management, responsive / agile teaming, culture and behavior change functional capability building, external research and benchmarking, job design, group dynamics, group process facilitation, communication planning, survey/assessment design, and a strong proficiency analyzing data to gain insight into business performance.


Additional Qualifications
  • 10+ years of direct experience in organizational change management with a focus on communications, culture, training and stakeholder management

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Management of Change processes. Up-to-date understanding of the corporate organizational change management field - techniques, tactics, and methods.

  • Ability to drive consensus across multiple stakeholders and to deliver consolidated change plans

  • Strong presentation, communication, negotiating, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to build strong relationships and understand the political climate of the project and its stakeholders. Experience working in a matrixed environment preferred.

  • Able to seamlessly juggle strategic thinking and visioning, with tactical plans to "make it real" and drive executional implementation.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of organizational behavior principles.

  • Strong project management experience to stay on schedule under tight, frequently changed deadlines.

  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, deliverable-driven environment and multi-task across multiple projects at once.

  • Certifications in change management (such as ADKAR or ProSci), project management (PMI) or related areas preferred

  • Detail-oriented, with excellent analytical skills
