Director, Global Ecommerce & Online Marketing - Mac Cosmetics (China Focus)

Job description

Position Summary The China Ecommerce Director is responsible for managing the execution of MAC's global online marketing strategy and partnering closely with the China affiliate team to develop market-specific programs to drive sales, create brand awareness and widen product distribution through online and mobile channels. The Director will be dedicated to the Chinese online business, including local China business and traveling Chinese customers. The Director will develop and support 360 go-to-market strategies for new launches and key moments across all online channels (brand.com, retailer.com, 3PP, and new channels) and will guide the China region on performance marketing best practices. Reporting to the Executive Director, Global Online Marketing and Ecommerce, this role will work closely with Director, Global Ecommerce, as well as with key cross-functional teams, including Global Consumer Marketing, Global Commercial, Global Product Marketing, and Creative to support China's online marketing efforts, drive customer acquisition and retention, and increase conversion via branded ROI-focused marketing and merchandising strategies. The Director will work with ELC Online teams to identify and project manage online innovation opportunities for MAC Chinese customers. This role will share one direct report. Key Responsibilities Commercial Strategy (30-50%) Provide support and partnership for the China local online team and Global cross functional teams Lead strategy calls with the China ecommerce team to assess the online business and identify market needs Identify opportunities for online innovation within the Chinese digital ecosystem Keep up with emerging online trends in the marketplace to assist affiliate in developing customized online marketing programs Effectively communicate new initiatives and programs to China affiliate team Develop effective relationships across the organization to drive the China online business Own key account review and alignment to deliver growth across T-Mall, WeChat, and other channels Promote governance for in-market strategy execution and performance assessment by providing KPI framework and sharing best practices Online Marketing/Merchandising Support (50-70%) Manage online (brand.com, email, and retailer.com) asset requirements for new product launches working closely with China affiliate, Creative, and Go-to-Market teams Work closely with Global Marketing teams to adapt full funnel, multi-touchpoint performance marketing campaigns for the China digital ecosystem and cascade to the affiliate for execution Define global online go-to market strategy across brand.com, retailer.com/Pure Player and 3PP for product launches, 360 Seasonal Campaigns, key moments and hero products Develop and manage conversion-driving new launch assets (on-model imagery, before & after, arm swatches, smoosh, how-to videos, etc.) and cascade to affiliate team Create online marketing and ecommerce toolkits for China-specific channels Partner with outside agencies on technical solutions to bring creative designs to life Q

Profile

Qualifications 8+ years ecommerce/digital experience Digital marketing expertise, in particular SEM and SEO Experience with Tmall and Tencent, preferred Performance marketing experience required including search and email marketing background Proven and consistent track record of executing against an aggressive growth strategy and delivering results Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Strong organizational and relationship management skills; must be a brand advocate and team player; a creative thinker and problem solver Aptitude for working with online tools (i.e. web-based reports, BI/databases, and various multimedia technologies) with thorough understanding of website metrics, data analysis, and reporting tools Fluent in Mandarin (written & spoken) preferred BA/BS required
