Job description

Position Summary

The IT leader is responsible for overseeing technology strategy, design, and implementation projects for ELC's global Human Resources function. Assesses the fit of technology solutions within the HR function, integrated systems, processes, and employee experience to maintain a value-driven technology portfolio at an affordable cost. Will maintain depth and breadth of the latest technology knowledge in HR to establish roadmaps, manage technical risk, and be respected as a technical thought-leader.

This is a strategic position that acts as a vital link between IT teams, application vendor partners, and the business function team. Responsible for driving high technical quality, reliable, future-looking solutions within the fixed limits of a project. Considers current technology capabilities while balancing emerging trends, future business needs, and technology marketplace evolution. Maximizes the output and coordinates across vendor, IT partners, and IT teams while encouraging mutual-respected and valued relationship.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Owns HR technological solutions, implementing fit-for-purpose solutions for each global business group's specialty business and user audience needs. Leads creation or implementation of new software products and services or those that improve daily business operations. Creates and implements short and long-term strategic solutions in terms of technological growth. Leads the identification of technical risks and forms contingency plans as soon as possible. Partners and liaisons with other IT teams, technology partners, management, and business clients to ensure projects are completed to spec. Provides proactive "news you can use" updates regarding the health and status of projects.

  • Maintains the alignment of technical roadmaps and plans with IT strategy and HR business goals to maximizing the effective use of technology and innovation. Consults, educates, and advises business clients on the value of technology to their business needs. Can effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical resources. Uses his/her personal brand to build ELC IT reputation.

  • Has deep understanding of the HR business and processes necessary to build and maintain a strong technology portfolio and transform the business. Evaluate business needs and strategies to establish solutions, technology roadmaps, and operational plans. Identify areas where technology can assist the business to create new opportunities and help achieve greater efficiencies. Understand, evaluate, and manage risks to the HR technology portfolio.

  • Directs globally dispersed internal, outsourced, and vendor technical team and all projects they undertake to support Human Resources business clients. Spearheads the evolution of technology platforms and IT strategy. Remains current in industry knowledge and be able to identify problems quickly.

  • Assists in managing the HR technology budget by estimating and managing budget allocations. Participates in annual IT Strategy as directed.

  • Manages and coaches' direct reports, builds lasting relationships with the team, and inspires staff to reach their career goals. Oversees technology vendors, driving strong vendor deliveries while building strong partner relationships.

  • Help define team working processes to optimize technology delivery with an evolving business and IT organization.

  • Excellent business technology leadership skills and demonstrated experience with delivering business outcomes enabled by technology.

  • Must demonstrate a high sense of urgency to influence changes and drive outcomes from conception to delivery.

  • Work effectively in a highly matrixed and complex organization. Demonstrates collaborative relationship building skills with various internal and external stakeholders, strong lateral influencing ability.

  • Demonstrates ability to work and lead through ambiguity and develop fresh ideas to solution challenges while focusing on results and outcomes.

Technical Skills
  • Demonstrated thought leadership in HR management systems technologies for large, global organizations

  • Deep experience in technology design/architecture and implementation.

  • Hands on experience and demonstrated success in leading HR technology solutions delivery.

  • Minimum Education level: BS Computer Science

  • Scrum Certified highly desired

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 10+

  • Required Language Proficiency: English, with additional languages a plus.
