Provides overall leadership to the Supply Chain network DC LP/Safety teams in safety, physical security, protection of company assets, Workers' Compensation and fire prevention programs. The Director is also responsible for supporting store merchandise loss investigations through investigation of missing deliveries. Develops and maintains a strong partnership with the DC VP's and their operating teams, and stores LP Directors. Through these partnerships, the Director of LP/Safety sets and implements the standards, policies & procedures and metrics related to safety, physical security and asset protection within the DC's. This position is responsible for ensuring that all DC's comply with OSHA standards. The Director of LP/Safety will also champion the implementation of shortage control programs within the DC's.
The Director of LP/Safety must develop and maintain ongoing communication and interaction with different levels of the Supply Chain network and the stores LP management. Through participation in meetings, conference calls and frequent DC visits this position will be the point of contact on critical DC LP initiatives.
- SAFETY: Responsible for achieving targeted network Accident Frequency Rates (AFR). General goal is to annually reduce prior year AFR by 5% by developing accident reduction plans for each of the DC's. Requires collaboration with Corporate Safety Manager and Risk Management Director to coordinate on adherence to Corporate Safety Program guidelines. Responsible for the maintenance of network DC inspection records of fire and intrusion protection equipment. Works with DC LP Managers to ensure fire hazards are eliminated and fire drills conducted to maintain fire fighting readiness. Responsible for managing the Supply Chain Workers' Compensation and TMD programs, and partners with DC HR on accommodation and return to work issues. 30%
- PHYSICAL SECURITY: Develops and drives implementation of the physical security plans for DC's. This includes ensuring that each DC has daily loss control inspection and investigative processes fully in place to deter internal theft with both Ross and Temp associates. Works closely with stores to investigate and resolve issues of missing cartons / deliveries through the Supply Chain Investigators. 30%
- TEAM MANAGEMENT: Responsible for the hiring, retention and development of his Management and Hourly teams. This includes creating the appropriate culture, behaviors and relationships with the DC Operations teams. Specific plans must exist to build the appropriate level of Exempt bench at each DC to improve the retention and potential of DC teams. A routine review of performance metrics must additionally exist to monitor and drive appropriate performance level of subordinates. 30%
- DEPARTMENT FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE: Responsible for creating the annual department budget and managing to the budget each year. Must manage budget exceptions with each DC LP/Safety Manager in order to achieve overall department budget by year-end. 10%

- Bachelor's Degree or greater in criminal justice, industrial security or business administration.
- Minimum 10 years experience in the successful implementation of accident reduction, loss prevention, shortage control, and fraud prevention.
- Strong team leadership, relationship building and cross-functional management experience.
- Strong analytical ability to gather, interpret information develop, recommend, and implement solutions.
- Should also have the written and oral communication skills to present to audiences of varying levels, including SVP down to Hourly.
- Strong knowledge of Occupational Safety Health Act, safety, health and loss prevention rules and regulations.
- Should have current certification in Basic First Aid and CPR
DC LP/Safety teams, including direct oversight of (3) DC LP/Safety Managers, (2) Audit / Investigators, and indirectly (10) LP Supervisors and approximately (30) LP Agents
