The Marketing Effectiveness Team enables and empowers the Macy's organization with analytic insight and solutions to support planning, tactical execution, and optimization of the customer experience. The Director Marketing Effectiveness supports the Marketing teams (Corporate and Divisional) with all backend analyses of information for promotional and non-promotional events. The Director acts as a liaison between Marketing and the Merchant/Support organizations as well as each Division's Marketing Effectiveness team. The role requires a high degree of strategic and analytical ability to develop actionable insights to improve our customers experience, our marketing strategies and financial results.
Essential Functions:
- Analyze Family of Business (FOB) and Marketing Strategies with recommendations for use in future planning of events
- Analyze sales trends and storewide event results by DMA/location and by FOB
- Answer complex business questions by applying structured problem solving and performing technical analyses
- Define analytical business problem, create innovative approach, and lead project execution
- Work closely with cross functional teams to draw insights from data and analysis
- Prepare and publish Plus Over Norm and ROI analyses
- Analyze event expenses and ROI's - identify unproductive spend and make recommendations based upon findings
- Develop seasonal marketing strategies: storewide and FOB specific
- Manage the preparation/compilation of materials for monthly/quarterly Post Mortem Meetings
- Lead and prepare materials for weekly Marketing Effectiveness Team meetings, weekly updates, and other major presentations
- Identify business trends and shifts, and recommend data-driven responses and recommendations to the Marketing organization
- Consistently apply a Macy's Inc. omni-channel lens to analysis and insights.
- Conduct research on and provide insight into industry / competitive marketing trends
- Manage the creation and maintenance of various sales databases
- Prepare Special projects: weather impact, tax free, impact of presell, etc
