Job description

The Director of Search and SEO will be lead the strategic development, planning and execution of the Paid Search program for Saks and Hudson�s Bay. They will also be responsible for driving strategy and execution of search engine optimization projects across all HBC websites (Saks, Lord + Taylor, OFF 5TH, and Hudson�s Bay). This role will also manage the relationship with our agency partner and business counterparts, developing and driving forward strategic initiatives related to Search Engine Marketing (SEM) to ensure that we are executing SEM programs in the most effective and efficient way, while supporting business objectives. The person will serve as a thought leader on SEM and SEO throughout the organization.


�You get things done by engaging in high level teamwork and flexing your interpersonal skills �You are a respected and proven thought leader with a quantifiable track record of success in delivering results within a large complex organization. �A natural problem-solver, who is also intuitively analytical and creativeYou Also Have:�6-8 years of work experience in paid media or marketing strategy, with a minimum of 3-4 years of SEM or SEO experience�Ability to compile and analyze search data and metrics, derive actionable insights from the data and present formal recommendations to leaders using PowerPoint �Strong presenter and able to clearly communicate thoughts, best practices and concepts to partners less familiar in SEM or SEO�Enterprise-level experience on ecommerce sites is beneficial�Advanced knowledge of technical, usability and content-related aspects of a website and their impact on natural search visibility�Excellent knowledge of enterprise and tagging software such as BrightEdge, Google Keyword Planner, Google AdWords, Search Console, Google Tag Manager, Adobe Omniture, and Google Analytics. �Self motivated and able to work both independently and develop and motivate teams�Intermediate level of understanding related digital marketing channels, including display, email, paid social and affiliates is a plus
As The Director of Search and SEO You Will:�Ensure ongoing account optimizations and best practice SEM tactics are followed, including structure improvements, targeting refinements (geo, device type, day-parting, keyword, etc.), content strategy and improvement in bid management processes and algorithms, by working closely with the agency for Saks and directly managing the Search program for Hudson�s Bay�Lead forecasting and budgeting for annual, quarterly and monthly paid search budgets leveraging various measurement tools (MMM, MTA, and pilots)�Drive analysis and optimization across SEM programs to track ROI and areas for adjustments, including new/refined ways to target, optimized content strategy and bid management �SEO: Partner with Tech and business leadership to manage successful implementation and execution of SEO priorities for all HBC websites�SEO: Conduct ongoing SEO audits and provide recommendations to enhance the standing of HBC websites in natural search listings�SEO: Proactively provide non-tech related SEO training/insights to internal teams and cross functional partners�Maintain the most up to date knowledge of best practices and strategies in management of paid search and SEO�Responsible for marketing related tagging on all HBC websites is done and in accordance with best practices How Often You May Travel:�25% within North AmericaYour Life and Career at HBC:�Be part of a world-class team; work with an adventurous spirit; think and act like an owner- operator!�Exposure to rewarding career advancement opportunities, from retail to supply chain, to digital or corporate.�A culture that promotes a healthy, fulfilling work/life balance�Benefits package for all eligible full-time employees (including medical, vision and dental).�An amazing employee discount
