Job description

The Employment Compliance Project Manager reports to the Employment Compliance Manager and is responsible for the oversight of home office, stores, distribution center and customer career center employment compliance. This role partners with cross functional teams to manage employment compliance related projects that develop, improve or enhance policies, processes, technology, operational tools, and training. This role will research changes in the domestic and international employment landscape to identify and mitigate risk. This role ensures sustainability of initiatives by educating and influencing HR and Operations partners.

Job Responsibilities:
Lead cross-functional project teams to respond to changes in the employment landscape, mitigate risk and develop appropriate solutions
Connect workgroups such as Legal, Human Resources, Store Operations, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Asset Protection, Risk Management, Regulatory and Information Security to develop and continuously improve business practices
Develop labor and employment solutions that are practical to execute, and integrated into store policies, talent management/associate relations practices and/or business operations
Drive compliance and integrate compliance objectives with business strategies by advising senior leaders, monitoring execution, educating and reinforcing labor and employment policies and practices
Participate on technology initiatives to provide employment compliance expertise
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to maintain strong relationships, influence processes/decisions, and foster alignment
Highly detail oriented, accurate, and able to prioritize
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Analyze business needs and resolve issues with innovation and creativity
Familiarity with store technology, point of sale systems (POS), scheduling tools, store operations and HR systems preferred
Ability to travel (~2-3 times per year)
Required Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications or related field; or a combination of education and work experience that yields the desired knowledge, skills and abilities.
4-years of related experience in HR, including exposure to the specialty areas of:
Labor Law
Payroll
Project Management
Retail Store Operations

Profile

Minimally Required Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Marketing, Communications or related field; or a combination of education and work experience that yields the minimally required competencies
4 years related experience in HR, including exposure to the specialty areas of HR and labor law
Travel required: 10% or less
Occasional weekend and evening work may be required, especially on Sundays for payroll reporting
Uses cellular and desk phone; laptop or desktop computer
