Job description

-Works with the Vice President in defining the marketing objectives of the brand and on the execution of key brand initiatives.
-Has significant input into the strategic development of global/regional marketing product and support calendars.
-Develops global marketing objectives and strategies for assigned categories and develops plans to achieve them.
-Is the catalyst responsible for the conception, development and gaining of internal and affiliate support for marketing programs for the assigned segments and projects, including an 18-month detailed plan and a 3-year overview.
-Develops and presents to senior management the marketing programs and product launch strategies for assigned categories that include long-term category objectives; COG analysis, pricing and forecasting; SKU management; Merchandising and Creative execution.
-Leads all cross functional teams on assigned categories/projects including: Product Development, Packaging, Design, Creative/Merchandising, Global Communications, Education/Special Events and NLM.
-Works closely with Sales, International GM and all affiliate markets to ensure programs meet the channel and / or market needs.
-Directs all forums for program development to ensure that programs meet Origins strategic and financial objectives for specified segments.
-Is the expert for assigned segments for Origins performance (shipments, sell-thru, cost of goods, sku count, pricing and new product forecasts) as well as competitively with regard to products, marketing focus and relevancy to the Origins business Is the expert on the status of all open programs for assigned segments
-Manages, trains, and develops the marketing expertise of direct team
-Consistently delivers successful products and programs on time and in keeping with the overall Origins category strategies and objectives.
-Provides continuous support to VP of Global Marketing in all functional areas.
-Leads all aspects of the development of the Origins businesses, focusing on leading hero franchises.
-Screens ideas, prepares and presents the Upfront Planning Process documents, including cost objectives and comparisons, to gain final brand management approval on new product and project recommendations.
-Makes recommendations to the existing line based on reformulation, repackaging or value analysis needs.
-Oversees the preparation of product and pricing information for use by management, including competitive pricing analysis.
-Develops and presents A&P Budget recommendations for all assigned segments. Manages A&P Budget, working with Vice President and Finance to ensure all programs are supported in a fiscally responsible manner.
-Drives the preparation of necessary paperwork including Concept Proposals, Marketing Work Requests, Package Development Requests, Job Starts, Creative and Copy requests for assigned segments/projects.
-Provides guidance and rationale to Sales for forecasts for existing and new products.
-Provides affiliates with appropriate, timely information regarding all calendarized programs in assigned segment (using 9 months/5 month pre-launch system).
-Cultivates close collaborative relationships with affiliate marketing teams to ensure programs developed by Global Marketing meet affiliate market needs and that Global Marketing strategic objectives are met.
-Works closely with Merchandising to ensure the most effective, up-to-date and cost-efficient testers, display and visual elements for assigned segment.
-Liaises regularly with support groups to ensure programs meet objectives, are on time, and that cost, and budget guidelines are met.
-Spearheads the global category review development and analysis process and is responsible for accuracy of all information presented. Presents and uses data to make informed recommendations and assists in the development of the 3 to 5-year business plan.
-Prepares and/or oversees the preparation of materials for presentation of marketing plans, i.e. Sales Meetings, Regional Roundtables.
-Regularly presents to Senior Management, Retailers and at US and International Regional Roundtables and Education Meetings.
-Supports Vice President in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual global category analyses.
-Conducts brainstorming sessions with cross-functional teams to surface and gather new, actionable ideas.
-Directs and analyzes market research and is responsible for conducting competitive market analysis on all topics related to assigned categories.
-Leads by example to create an environment that is encouraging, respectful, and builds team cooperation.
-12+ years of experience in Global Marketing
-Must possess excellent creative, analytical, communications, and computer skills.
-Needs to exhibit a keen ability to conceptualize new products, analyze competitive activity, and formulate recommendations to grow the business.
-Must possess the ability to build, foster and nurture strong relationships with members of cross-functional and affiliate teams.
-Must be flexible, determined and an excellent team player.
-Must have the potential to assume increased responsibility.
-Must have the ability to manage the performance and career development of a team of direct reports.
-Should demonstrate a passion for the cosmetics business and in particular, understand Origins philosophy and point of difference.
