Job description

Proactive strategic thinker; self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit; highly collaborative and can build relationships across cultures and with all levels of management within brands, regions, functions; highly analytical, can synthesize information and offer recommendations/solutions; strong communication and leadership skills. This position will primarily support the company's acquisition strategy, working across ELC International Regions during both the due diligence phase and the post-acquisition / execution phase, in coordination with NBEG and the Global Brands. The position will guide new brands in decisions on distribution and key levers of execution. It will also support Regional business development initiatives, e.g. Joint Ventures, on an ad-hoc basis. This position will also oversee one Manager, focused on NBD and other ad hoc initiatives. Decision Making - Indicate type of decisions typically made and the overall impact of those decisions. Problem Solving - Indicate the nature of problems regularly encountered and the complexity of the solutions. Independence of Action and Accountability - Indicate the general degree of independence which may range from closely monitored to setting direction. Budget Responsibility - Indicate degree of financial accountability. Include actual amount of operating budget and/or cost savings. Include net sales plan responsibility, if applicable. Leadership - Indicate management responsibility including planning for the department's future needs, operations, hiring, performance management, salary decisions, talent planning, etc. (i.e., one team, multiple teams etc.).

Profile

Acquisition target business plan development: 1. Work with Regions to provide assumptions and qualitative input on the business plan from New Business Development including:
- Long term strategic vision for target brand and assessment of fit with existing ELC Brand portfolio.
- Channel / retailer strategy and door roll-out (both brick & mortar and online)
- Productivity assumptions; Operating costs assumptions; Relevant local benchmarks
- Timeline for acquisition integration. 2. Work with New Business Development team to ensure final business plan appropriately reflects views from International Regions and formalize alignment among stakeholders. Acquisition target due diligence (conduct directly or oversee):
- Review and analyze data room information and provide call-outs / findings accordingly
- Review international retailer and distributor agreement agreements, communicate summary findings to Legal and New Business Development team and ensure Business Plan is consistent with the framework of the existing distributor agreements
- Act as point of contact for International/Regions data requests from New Business Development or others, and gather necessary information in a timely manner
- Complete due diligence findings for the International team, incorporating the views and comments of International/Regions.
- Review and analyze proposed operating model and organizational design and provide input on the current/5-year/10-year structures, resources, and investments
- Collaborate with the Human Resources team to refine the proposed structures and determine headcount and cost assumptions. Acquisition integration 1. Lead International commercial integration, including:
- Organizational design and go to market strategies in partnership with Regional leads and Global Brand.
- Commercial integration toolkits for Regions/Affiliates.
- Filter/conduit role to facilitate and accelerate circulation of information between newly acquired Brand and Regions, taking into considerations the Brands' resources.
- Coordination with SMI and Global integration leads on business development topics and specific market conditions. 2. Lead 3rd party distributor disintermediation work post acquisition, in partnership with Region/Affiliate and ELCV Legal team
- Responsible for timely completion of disintermediations in accordance with existing agreements.
- Lead/assist with termination negotiations with distributors. Global new business development 3. Work with Regions to fuel the New Business Development team with an international pipeline of business development opportunities:
- Drive and support opportunities identified by the Regions, e.g. acquisition ideas or business partnerships.
- Source and propose additional international acquisition ideas. Acquired Brands International business development 4. Lead International Brand business development support for non-integrated Brands, including:
- Identify international growth opportunities with Brands and partner with Regions/Affiliates to oversee the execution of these opportunities. Establish business development process at Regional level to ensure Brands participate in ELC business development initiatives - Work closely with acquired brands to ensure LRP goals are met - Monitor functional performance of the Brands, identify issues/challenges and work with them and ELCV team members to develop strategies to address.
