Job description

Abercrombie & Fitch is seeking a talented Financial Analyst to join our Inventory Control Finance & Operations team. The Inventory Control team is responsible for merchandise inventory valuation of all company brands (Abercrombie & Fitch, kids, Hollister, Gilly Hicks and Social Tourist) worldwide.
The candidate will be responsible for financial statement analysis, budgeting/forecasting, and ensuring completeness/accuracy of inventory valuation and strategy. The candidate must be able to prepare meaningful analytics and financial models, make recommendations for process efficiencies and cost savings opportunities, and present information in a clear, concise, and relevant format for management consumption.
What will you be doing?
- Play a key role in the development, preparation, and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets/forecasts by working closely with cross-functional partners
- Create and maintain financial analytics for balance sheet and P&L accounts based on historical data and recent trends
- Team closely with cross-functional partners to facilitate and reconcile physical inventories of all stores and workrooms to ensure accurate inventory valuation and facilitate liquidation strategies and identify opportunities to maximize inventory value
- Formulate actionable insights and solutions to key challenges and present proposals to senior management in a concise and thoughtful manner
- Provide insight and analysis of financial results to explain variances and make educated adjustments to budgets, models, and forecasts
- Identify strategic opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost savings
- Independently drive department-related projects to conclusion through collaboration with other teams in the company
- Mentor less experienced associates on the Inventory Control team

Profile

- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or other business/analytical major
- CPA preferred
- 2-5 years of retail industry, public accounting, and/or financial reporting experience, as well as experience with global operations
- Preferred experience with PeopleSoft Finance or equivalent system, Hyperion, and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Self-motivated, strategic thinking, positive team player who is eager to learn, responsive and flexible to changing business conditions
- Outstanding analytical and conceptual thinking skills, willing to challenge the status quo
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
- Excellent organization skills and attention to details, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and activities
