Job description

The role is an essential part of the Finance team for the global operations of AllSaints, supporting & implementing the Financial Accounting and Reporting agenda across the globe. The role will support the Group to ensure best practice in financial accounting processes is in place, ensuring the provision of financial information for internal & external reporting is timely, accurate and compliant with IFRS.As you will be working with teams across the world you will be need to be a natural at building strong relationship quickly across all levels.You will report directly into the Head of Financial Accounting and sit within the Finance team.
What Will I Be Doing?
- Driving reporting timelines and structure across the group, including consistent templates for monthly reporting to be submitted by subsidiaries
- Reviewing monthly reporting submitted by subsidiaries and supporting documentation
- Preparing monthly Group management reporting with analysis to be submitted to the Head of Financial Accounting for review
- Assisting with the ongoing development of monthly management reporting to ensure this adds value and meets stakeholder needs
- Developing Group policies around financial processes and controls and ensuring these are adhered to by subsidiary accounting teams
- Ensuring the business is provided with sound and clear technical accounting guidance (including written technical accounting papers) on any matter arising including the impact of changes to IFRS standards on the Group (e.g. transition from IAS 17 to IFRS 16)
- Developing intercompany processes and ensuring these are applied
- Working closely with the Global Tax Manager to ensure intercompany processes and policies are compliant with the appropriate tax legislation and the Group is not exposed to unnecessary risk
- Overseeing and reviewing preparation of intercompany invoices, adjustments, trade balances and loans and the reconciliation of all intercompany balances
- Ensuring all intercompany balances are appropriately eliminating on consolidation
- Preparation of year end statutory reporting
- Ownership of all statutory reporting for International subsidiaries within the group including the review of any Branch returns required by local Tax Authorities
- Reconciliation of all subsidiary submitted records to ensure appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with IFRS
- Reconciling reserves (distributable and non-distributable) to ensure items are classified appropriately
- Manage statutory audit timetable and PBC requests to ensure all deadlines can be met
- Providing sound and clear technical accounting advice and guidance (including written technical accounting papers) on any matter arising including the impact of changes to IFRS standards on the Group to ensure the financial reporting is IFRS compliant and is following best practice
- Implementing new accounting standards and Group accounting policies across the Group
- Ensuring the Group financial accounting policies are maintained and updated to reflect the accounting and reporting requirements across different jurisdictions
- Improving the financial reporting controls environment through developing clear Group policies and implementing these across the Group to create a control environment that adheres to identifiable group policies and embeds best practice across the business
- Manage any direct reports, including the setting of objectives and reviews
- Undertake any other duties as requested by the Head of Financial Accounting

Profile

- Qualified accountant from top accounting firm (ACA/ACCA)
- Strong knowledge of IFRS
- Strong background in completing and reviewing consolidations
- Proven experience of technical accounting, with proven capability to communicate Financial Reporting requirements to various stakeholders
- Demonstrate being curious, inquisitive and robust with a drive to improve financial accounting discipline within a business
- Previous team management experience
- Desire to drive improvements in the end-to-end financial accounting and reporting process
- Eye for detail and ability to identify errors
- A collaborative team player
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work in a fast paced, commercially focused environment and able to adapt to change quickly
- Disciplined approach to production and documentation of work
- A Retail Industry background would be desirable for this role
