Tiffany & Co. is currently seeking an IT Manager – Data Services. The Manager’s role is to ensure the streamlined engineering efforts of the department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. This individual will plan, coordinate, direct, and design database and data management related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and support for the daily engineering activities of the department. This position will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, engineer, and implement cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. This person will also define and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
Responsibilities :
The IT Manager - Data Services will lead the Data Services team with architectural and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources. S/He will lead the department to engineer, automate, and streamline database and replication deployment related activities. This role will benchmark, analyze, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the Databases and Applications portfolio while managing financial aspects of Data Services , including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review. The Manager will develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for new application and database environmental spending and initiatives. Additionally, this role will develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision. The IT Manager will manage the engineering, implementation, maintenance, development, and upgrade of database, data management, replication, and associated infrastructure. S/He will negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements. This role will work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations while overseeing projects and project portfolio. As a leader, this role will manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions while establishing and maintaining regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.


- Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science and/or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 8 plus years related work experience with 3 plus years managing direct staff
- Strong technical knowledge of database technologies with either or both Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle
- Experience in managing Data Services team including IaaS, PaaS, and DRaaS variants
- Experience in AWS & Azure with database server deployment and optimization
- Strong understanding of underlying systems hardware and OS, such as AIX, Windows, VMWare and IBM virtualization platforms is desired
- Understanding of governing regulations and compliance such as SOX or PCI
- Extensive knowledge and direct experience with developing and managing outsourcing vendors for key strategic technology areas
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development
- Experience managing global data replication architectures
- General knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
- Strong understanding of project management principles
- Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products as required
- Ability to perform general mathematical calculations for the purpose of creating business cases and budgets
- Strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills

- Knowledge of web platforms, including IIS, WebSphere, and integration platforms including IBM InfoSphere and IBM WebSphere MQ are a plus
- Knowledge of change management, release management and deployment automation
