Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The IT Manager will be responsible for executing strategic large-scale corporate application and store system projects at Ross that support various business initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Manage complex projects of critical importance throughout the entire system lifecycle, coordinating the efforts of internal team members, system integrators, vendors, and business partners

- Develops innovative solutions and systems to support strategic business unit objectives

- Work with business partners and cross functionally to define and manage project objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines, and project budgets

- Identify, escalate, and resolve issues critical to project success

- Manage, mentor, and lead internal and external staff as defined in project structures

- Interact and coordinate with other IT teams, such as architecture, infrastructure, information security, integration, etc.

- Monitor and report on project progress to stakeholders

- Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs

- Perform ongoing review of project management methodology, working with IT Leadership on continual improvement of business processes

Profile

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Bachelor's degree, project management certifications or equivalent work experience in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline.

- 5-7 years of project or program manager experience within a Fortune 500 or similar IT environment

- 5-7 years of enterprise level implementation experience using SDLC methodology

- Experience leading SDLC projects from start to finish. Understand various SDLC processes (funding, architecture, security, service transition, TCO) and PMO governance. Understand inter-process dependencies.

- Experience with planning, budgeting, analysis, project execution, and support

- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to present to and convince senior leadership

- Experience with managing consultants; matrix-managing other IT team members

- Technically competent; ability to work with internal development resources, technical and solution architects, engineers, and external vendor resources

- Experience working with business partners

- Ability to manage multiple initiatives, self-prioritize and provide recommendations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.

Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.

Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.

Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.

This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
