Job description
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Responsible for leading the Business Continuity team functions. The Business Continuity team is responsible for creating, maintaining and testing Business Continuity Plans across the enterprise. The team performs emergency notifications via the Emergency Management Notification tool and manages the satellite phone services. The Manager role provides the coordination required to create, maintain and test Business Continuity Plans. The role also supports Business Continuity leadership to evolve the company's Business Continuity Program capabilities and services, creating BCM Program strategy/ governance and directly interfacing with the business community.
The Manager will have expertise around industry best practices in the various aspects of Business Continuity and the ability to implement solutions that reduce risk across key business units. Experience with both retail and IT processes is preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage business analysts to maintain the Business Continuity Portfolio
- Develop and manage BC governance policies and controls
- Innovating and iterating on program execution methodology to provide continuous improvement opportunities which includes managing day to day tasks of the Business Analysts through the processes for creating, refreshing and sustaining Business Continuity Plans.
- Provide input for program management activities requiring budgeting and resourcing input across diverse teams.
- Influence and set strategic direction in partnership with Business Continuity Leadership to continuously improve existing processes. Work with business and IT owners to help define, develop and maintain and test Business Continuity Plans on an ongoing basis.
- Design, create, maintain and test Business Continuity Plans on an on-going basis.
- Stay current with Business Continuity industry trends and best practices. Lead the adoption of those best practices within the Business Continuity Team.
- Manage BC Team and other assigned special projects as required by position

Profile
QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Undergraduate degree in business, information systems or a related discipline or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years of Business Continuity experience with progressive responsibility and influence
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in delivering solutions
- Demonstrated Project Management skills
- Demonstrated experience in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
- Demonstrated experience in the development of solution programs / projects
- Demonstrated analytical ability, judgment and problem analysis techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams and business units
- Demonstrated experience in managing people
- DRII Certification a Plus
- Disaster Recovery/Crisis Management knowledge a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
Some travel may be required.
This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
