Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The IT Manager II, Logistics leads the delivery of projects and capabilities. Directs internal and external technical teams, along with software and technology vendors to solve business needs of the Ross Logistics team. Participates in strategic planning to identify and resolve potential conflicts with existing and future systems. Collaborates with the business teams to resolve identified risks and issues. Ensures project status and performance is accurate in the PPM (Project & Portfolio Management) application.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Responsible for delivery of assigned IT projects for Logistics

- Understands the fundamental business activities performed by Ross and the Logistics team

- Evaluates risks and recommends appropriate remediation solutions for identified vulnerabilities

- Drives evaluation and implementation of applications and tools needed by team

- Coordinates work efforts with other teams such as business portfolios, internal IT teams and vendors

- Develops a deployment plan for new functionality across teams and sites

- Manages the recruitment, retention, and career development of team including managing, mentoring, and leading internal and external staff

- Builds and maintains strong relationships with vendors

- Participates in strategic planning and annual budgeting process

- Provides action plans, schedules, budgets, status reports and other management communications on assigned projects.

- Ensures project and operational metrics are accurate and communicated to stakeholders

- Participates and provide updates in IT leadership meetings - identifies and addresses potential conflicts or delays.

- Monitors current and proposed industry standards relative to the technologies associated with Logistics to provide direction and recommendations on changes and the introduction of new processes or products

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead Application Analyst

Profile

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

- At least 7 to 10 years' experience supporting IT systems, processes or capabilities

- Minimum of 5 years of progressive IT experience with at least 3 years in Logistics (preferred) or Supply Chain and related business operations support

- Demonstrated project management experience

- Demonstrated ability to manage staff remotely, across multiple time zones

- Strong analytical ability, judgment and problem analysis techniques

- Demonstrated ability to anticipate and handle critical situations, negotiating solutions and resolving conflicts

- Demonstrated ability to execute basic financial analysis, such as ROI

- Technically competent; able to supervise internal engineer, analysts, consultants and external vendor resources

- Some travel may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.

Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.

Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.

Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.

This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
