Job description

The Reliability Manager drives Maintenance and Reliability improvements in a Manufacturing Operations environment and has accountability for maintenance activities and the. This position monitors and controls the maintenance and reliability of the manufacturing equipment through the use of the CMMS Maximo application and coaches the team of exempt and non-exempt employees in the use of CMMS Maximo system and is the system administrator for the Melville site. Key responsibilities for this position include leading maintenance and reliability processes of the Production CIP system and COP processes to eliminate cleaning related micro contamination issues, developing and implementing strategies to increase the competence level across the maintenance team of the CIP system and cleaning procedures. Also, enhancing our maintenance capabilities of all equipment to deliver improved equipment reliability and decreasing our repair and maintenance costs. Directly overseeing the M&R technicians and the maintenance and capital request of ink jet and laser coding equipment, and all items related to CIP, COP and cleaning capability of equipment for validation with the goal of zero micro rejects linked to any such processes. The Reliability Manager position is also responsible for driving Supply Chain strategies and continuous improvement objectives, working in collaboration with the Project Engineer Team, Production, Facilities and Quality and has a direct impact on sustainable safety (BBS), quality, profitability, efficiency, OEE, cost management, customer satisfaction, innovation and LEAN methodologies. Leadership (60%) - Drive the implementation and use of CMMS Maximo within the day to day operation in order to reduce downtime, improve uptime, and improve equipment availability and utilization. Works very closely with the leadership team to establish the Reliability Strategy. This includes the appropriate programs, policies, procedures and management systems to drive improved reliability performance with the lowest long term cost of ownership. - Be able to develop and train Maintenance Technicians that will drive and improve productivity by minimizing equipment downtime. - Engage the team and lead the implementation and continuous use of CMMS Maximo and RSView - Deliver sustainable cultural and behavioral changes across the business to build the right relationship between TPM within a CI Lean culture. Ability to lead, coach, mentor and influence employees and business partners alike. - Drive results through effective communication, collaboration and accountability - Develop talent of Maintenance & Reliability technicians to full potential through training, consistent feedback and coaching - Evaluating performance of employees, make recommendations for improvement, and apply the corrective action process, as required - Manage scheduled preventive maintenance to drive the highest customer service level - Provide feedback and recommendations on equipment changes/installations - Perform all other duties as assigned which may become necessary to support departmental/organizational objectives Problem Solving & Decision Making (40%) - Strong use of Continuous Improvement methodologies. Support efforts to meet or exceed our Quality, Delivery and Cost performance expectations - Utilize and support systems that will drive the focus on Equipment Reliability Tracking, monitoring Mean Time between Failure, Root Cause Failure Analysis and drive CMMS Maximo and RSView Systems on a regular interval based manner and create action items based on data from these systems. - Insure proper functionality of the production CIP system - Oversee all items related to CIP, COP and cleaning capability of equipment for validation with the goal of zero micro rejects linked to any such processes. - Work collaboratively to ensure quality system improvements. Assists in identifying, communicating and resolving early-stage equipment and cleaning quality problems. - Monitor and assure compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and adherence to defined procedures - Perform other duties as assigned.


- Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills - Must demonstrate a desire and ability to lead and teach others - Must be well versed with CMMS Maximo and train others in its use and use the system to maintain appropriate parts inventory and account of all equipment maintenance with emphasis to reduce downtime. - Must possess a strong use of continuous Improvement methodologies, to align reliability efforts with, and support existing programs to meet or exceed our Quality, Delivery and Cost performance expectations. - Must be able to apply root cause analysis for problem solving - Well versed in equipment automation, PLC Logic Control, Robotics, Servo Drive Systems, CIP systems, CMMS, MRO Storeroom Management and Automated Packaging Designs. -Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience -5 years minimum experience -0-5% travel time
