Job description

Estée Lauder is hiring a Manager of Digital Marketing with a successful track record of managing and leading digital media programs at scale to deliver outstanding qualified traffic, revenue growth and customer activation and retention. The Manager will join a consumer-obsessed team that drives advertising innovation and maintains Estee Lauder's competitive edge as a leading prestige beauty brand in North America, with the #1 Foundation and #1 Serum in the U.S as well as support AERIN Beauty in growing awareness and adoption.
This position is responsible for overseeing U.S. advertising campaigns launched by the brand to drive awareness, consideration and conversion via Programmatic, Display, OLV, Paid Social, and Non-brand Search campaigns. He/She/They will be responsible for managing and executing campaigns in partnership with agencies and cross-functional team members. Additionally, this role will identify optimization opportunities, creating campaign reports (during and post flight) to best drive the US business. He/She/They will work closely with the online team to drive growth for esteelauder.com.
The Manager of Digital Marketing will report to the Director of Consumer Engagement for North America.
Digital Marketing Strategy
- Develops digital activations for engagement, acquisition, retention, paid media tactical campaigns
- Identifies and presents platforms, ad unit types and optimal media mixes to achieve net new and retention goals seasonally and annually
- Gatekeeps new platform innovation proposals and present proposals to Director and Executive Director of CE with recommendation to support
- Drives asset creation with Creative teams that are best suited to achieve objectives and push brand innovation and storytelling
- Works with cross-functional and agency teams to ensure the customer journey from awareness, interest/consideration, to conversion and loyalty are brand appropriate and impactful
- Collects intelligence, data and insight from platforms to share with key stakeholders
- Works to remain attuned to competitive landscape, current and emerging media opportunities in the overall industry-leading campaigns to raise awareness and promote adoption Digital/Paid Media
- Manages external media agencies and works closely with North America and Global Marketing, Center of Excellence (COE) & Creative teams on digital campaign planning and assets/optimizations that are right for NOAM market
- Briefs 360 partners (including Creative) where needed to develop US-relevant content that meets brand objectives
- Aligns NA paid social plans with Global editorial calendars, and leads forward calendar planning for timely, relevant campaigns
- Responsible for managing the execution and shift of all plans (inclusive of proper documentation) with agency partner in line with campaign objectives and business needs
- Liaises with PR and Ecomm teams for integrated, holistic media strategies based on U.S. priorities
- Leads Non-Brand Search execution to fuel generation of inbound traffic
- Develop strategic sampling programs and execute end-to-end with agency and production vendor
- Optimizes targeting and segmentation through analysis
- Develops and delivers (in partnership with Analytics manager) regular reports to broader internal team and senior leadership on the performance of marketing campaigns and programs
- Reviews and evaluates paid media strategy with agency and Director of Consumer Engagement to make recommendations to optimize and improve performance
- Works with regional and global teams to provide necessary results, measurement and analytics
- Manages and tracks paid media budget for relevant platforms Analytics and Media Effectiveness
- Partners with Analytics manager, Director and Executive Director to outline pertinent KPI's for all digital initiatives ahead of campaign launch
- Analyzes custom measurement study frameworks from media partners in partnership with Analytics manager ahead of implementation
- Ensure that digital marketing plans are executed as designed, matching guidelines, media mix and delivery levels for national media, coordinating with agencies as needed
- Works directly with media agencies for best-in-class execution reporting. Partners on segmentation strategy and mid-flight optimizations
- Partners with Global Digital marketing on post-campaign recaps reporting what worked and what didn't
- Understands and can readily communicate campaign benchmarks and contribute to agency meetings and internal optimization/opportunity discussions Digital Marketing Budget
- Creates Digital Marketing PO requests, invoicing and tracking for national media budget to ensure budget accuracy, and disseminates information in timely fashion to all cross-functional teams and the field with ad hoc help from Associate
- Accountable for accurate tracking, reconciliation of IOs, PO requests and tracking for all national media activations in partnership with Director
- Expertly communicates overages and underspends with thorough detail and accuracy to team and finance as needed.


- 5+ years minimum relevant work experience required. Multi-million dollar budget experience is a must
- Growth minded and solutions-first oriented

- Expert user in Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Tableau/running and pulling information from dashboards
- Excellent written and oral communications with ability to explain complex social media ecosystems and data in an understandable way to technical and non-technical team members
- Ability to analyze data from various resources and translate it into trends, actionable plans
- Must be an excellent team player with the ability to build, foster and nurture relationships with external agencies/partners and members of the Global Marketing and cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in all digital platforms including Programmatic/OTT, Facebook/Instagram, TikTok, Google/YouTube, Pinterest, Snapchat, and passion for emerging platforms
- Exceptional multi-tasking, follow-through and problem-solving skills
