Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Fabric/trim Manager will be responsible for researching and/or
developing fabrics for centric West denim brands while adhering to textile performance standards, production schedules as well as business plans established.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with Design team and support the execution of denim and trim development.
- Sources fabrics/trims based on Design direction, according to brand aesthetics.
- Meets with vendors and presents new ideas for multi brand development.
- Maintains healthy vendor relationships, corresponding via e-mail, phone and meetings in a
- timely and professional manner.
- Collaborates with Design and Product Development t Provide technical support to the research and analysis of alternatives for new products and develops and maintains technical and quality requirements on all fabric; including keeping abreast of new textile technologies, trends and processes.
- Manage wear test process for all new fabrications
- Negotiates price, lead times, and deliveries for all fabric and trims
- Maintain accurate fabric specifications for all new and existing fabrics
- Responsible for overseeing fabric testing with vendors.
- improvements to existing product.
- Negotiates terms and issues Purchase Orders.
- Responsible for placing bulk reservation POs and directing vendors on placement of bulk garment orders.
- Manages vendor related problems- QC issues, credit issues, and supply issues.
- Manage processes and policies to leverage supply chain capabilities that will ensure successful
- production inclusive of quality, delivery and cost.
- Maintains bulk and liability fabric reporting.

Profile

- Bachelor's Degree, in textiles or product development a plus.
- Understanding of denim, knit and woven apparel fabrics.
- 3-4 years previous experience in fabric sourcing and development.
Strong knowledge in:
- Sourcing process, contracts, market analysis, supplier analysis, supplier diversity, and technology
- utilization.
- Should have good relationships with mills on a global perspective.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects.
- Detailed oriented with strong follow through.
