Job description

OverviewThe Manager, Global Brand Management Category position reports to the Senior Director and will play a key role in helping to shape long range strategic marketing plans for the category. The Brand Manager will lead the development of initiatives designed to deliver against the Company’s category’s key strategic and financial goals. This position will require proven brand management skills and a demonstrable passion for luxury brand marketing with the ability to demonstrate exceptional success in the following areas: 1) Business Strategy and Analytics: Translate consumer and data insights into brand action plans that can generate a positive impact on business results2) Innovative Thinking: Act as a 'change agent' in teams or organizations by bringing best-in-class external perspectives3) Effective Leadership and Collaboration: Lead projects across a multifunctional global organization; define new work processes as well as operate effectively within those that already exist4) Results-Driven Approach: Focus on strong and rigorous execution with a sensitivity around communication and management of critical timelines
Responsibilities :
Responsibilities Management:Ownership of defined categories and channels (e.g. Catalogues) including communication strategies and associated budgets
People management in supervision of direct report (Assistant Brand Manager)
Brand Management:Together with the Senior Director, the Brand Manager will partner closely with all other functions to ensure a brand architecture, initiative, and promotional plan that delivers against the long range strategic and financial goals as defined by the Executive Committee
Ownership of defined categories
Write and deliver briefs to provide brand direction on communication and advertising strategies and needs across marketing initiatives
Conduct continuous category and competitive assessment and leverage consumer insights that will influence strategic business recommendations and day-to-day project management
Manage day-to-day operations on all aspects of the brand business and be able to anticipate issues before they occur; suggest and implement solutions in an effective manner
Liaise with regions to define and plan effective global marketing conferences
Prepare brand presentations & materials for senior management communications including internal conferences w/regional marketing leaders & cross-functional teams
Initiative Development:Support the development of the initiative campaign strategy & global assets tool kit
Where applicable, provide agency feedback on creative briefs, timelines, concepts, and any relevant creative materials
Own and facilitate task force meetings by preparing materials, compiling agendas, and identifying and managing next steps
Monitor campaign asset development and ensure all deliverables are met as needed; troubleshoot complex issues as they arise
Lead a 360 comprehensive review deck for key initiatives summarizing results & key learnings with input from all multi-functional and agency partners
Business Analytics:Lead complex business & financial analyses, assisting in periodic brand business reviews with custom data pulls to identify business drivers & challenges
Partner with Category Marketing and regions to create marketing effectiveness analyses and KPIs to inform and measure strategy
Compile and update comprehensive competitive material to conduct and deliver landscape reviews as needed, whether it be a total brand analysis or a specific deep dive (e.g. print advertising calendars, gift guides)
Leverage global consumer data to inform global brand and creative strategy
Report on global best practices, industry trends, business and marketing program results
Identify consumer patterns that may generate new business or go to market ideas
Expand knowledge of Tableau, Microsoft Excel and Business Objects in order to further enhance analytical skills
Strengthen skills related to business communication including written business reports and review summaries
Organizational Development:Support Senior Director and work across multi-functional project teams to ensure excellence in strategy and execution - delivering the initiatives and full asset toolkits to the categories and regions on-time
Become a valued partner of the regionally based marketing teams by aligning regions behind the centrally defined marketing vision and investment for the brand
Deliver operational and process improvements that drive increased efficiency within global marketing and regional marketing teams


QualificationsBachelors Degree with 5-7 years of experience in Brand ManagementExperience with research and analysisExperiencing managing direct reports with the ability to motivate others and lead by examplePoise and professionalism to interact with varying levels of management in cross-functional teams including Regional Marketing, Global Creative, Global PR, Global CVM, Global Digital, Global CRM, Global Merchandising, and Global EducationExceptional organizational and critical problem-solving abilitiesAbility to prioritize and multi-taskStrong communication, writing, analytical and presentation skillsAppreciation and understanding of style and designDemonstrated cultural awareness and understanding of regional differencesFlexibility to work with international time zones and scheduling of conference callsProficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Position Location: 200 Fifth Avenue New York, NY 10010 LI-POST9
