Job description

The Manager, Learning & Development will be responsible for leading the design, development, and execution of leadership training programs. The Manager will be responsible for the program management of the HBC Advanced Merchant Development Program as well as additional L&D projects and initiatives. This position requires excellent leadership skills as he/she will be coaching future executives, in addition to regularly interfacing with our senior leaders. The Manager will require the ability to take existing programs currently in place and analyze what needs to be done to continue to meet the changing needs of our organization. Confident interpersonal skills including communication & comfort around senior leadership, providing actionable �in- the moment� feedback & recommends to leaders is a key to success for this role. Strong facilitation, organizational and planning skills, as well as a customer focus with a desire to learn and be involved in multiple projects. The position requires the Manager to work collaboratively with multiple groups including merchants, Human Resources, and L&D team in different office locations. The Manager must be able to work collaboratively as well as independently. He/she should have excellent project management, organizational and time management skills as multiple programs and initiatives run at the same time. The Manager will need to take a holistic approach to total merchant programs and will be closely involved with all merchant programs across multiple levels of the organization.

You Also Have:
Four-year degree or equivalent

As The Manager, L&D, You Will:
Program Leadership

Work in collaboration with other L&D Managers to lead the HBC Development Programs
Lead and Administer Program Learning Experiences
Program learning days and experiences: support facilitation of roundtables, panel discussions and outside of office learning activities
Provide coaching and feedback to participants to ensure performance requirements are being met
Provide coaching and feedback to participant supervisors to assist in the training and development of program participants
Actively manage participant performance by managing mid and end of program performance evaluations, provide recommendations on exit strategies when necessary
Stay in regular communication with Human Resources
Monitor program budgets to ensure that program costs do not exceed allocated funds.
Program Development
Evaluate existing training program structure and incorporate updates as necessary
Curriculum Development: Provide recommends on curriculum strategy in accordance with 70/20/10 learning & development principles
Participant Placement: In partnership with corporate Human Resources, manage participant placement process (inclusive of post program placement)
Manage internal relationships with senior leaders and SMEs who hold active roles in classes and/or leadership programs. 
Evaluate effectiveness of programs by collecting and analyzing program feedback; continuously ensures program curriculum is current and meeting the needs of the business
Supports and participates in design and implementation of recruitment days
Complete various ad hoc projects, presentations, reports and material related to training programs to continue to evaluate effectiveness of programs.
Support other L&D training programs, across HBC banners, as needed.
