Job description

Seeking an Procurement Manager to join our growing adidas team. The procurement manager will ensure that commercial and business relationships and engagements with suppliers are handled according to policies, commercials, risks and procurement area related best practices for the dedicated categories in scope. Additionally they will help facilitate relevant strategies definition and deployment whilst ensuring visibility and transparency of indirect spend.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and manage the development and implementation of procurement area related strategies in alignment with senior procurement management and relevant business partners
- Build business relationships and effectively partner with the relevant stakeholders of the procurement areas within adidas and the related supplier base
- Support creation and implementation of sourcing and supplier strategies and ensure compliance with procurement policies, standards and guidelines for defined procurement areas
- Enable and ensure transparency of spend and drive for optimization of efficiency (procedures and cost) in collaboration with the adidas Finance function and related stakeholders
- Lead and support supplier selection processes in alignment with business partners and negotiate contracts up to final authorization including dispute resolution, approving and qualifying vendors as well as authorization of contracts and purchase orders within the adidas signature policy
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams in defined procurement and general development projects as well as pro-actively support other team members in their tasks and activities
- Continuous learning and development of procurement knowledge and methodologies driving innovation and continuous improvement within the procurement function


- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement methodologies and concepts, like TCO and life cycle of products/services, business partnering
- Knowledge of supply base per procurement area and availability of products/services, bottleneck criteria (market and pricing), cost levers, savings and procedural best practices
- Ability to drive procurement strategy and setup supplier selection and management
- Ability to support develop sourcing strategies in order to face market trends
- Knowledge of stakeholder and supplier relationship management concept, employment contracts, company agreements, claim management, liability, warranty and (inter)national procurement related legislation
- Project and process management knowledge and experience
- Excellent analytical, presentation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Action-oriented and solution-minded team player with high degree of self-management
- Proficiency in MS Office and preferably SAP MM/SRM
- Travel of up to 25%
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree from a 4-year accredited college or university with emphasis on the areas of business, economics, finance, procurement or legal preferred
- 3-5 years' experience in similar or adequate role in procurement environment, preferably with project or supplier management elements.
