Ulta Beauty is looking for a Manager Quality & FDA Compliance to provide guidance and expertise in all facets of the business policies, procedures, and practices that establish quality systems compliant with cosmetic and over the counter (OTC) regulations and processes of US Federal and International regulatory agencies. The position will interact with the FDA and related international regulatory agencies and manage merchandise and supply chain quality assurance audits. The Manager Quality & FDA Compliance will develop strategic quality initiatives and related programs for the Company's Supply Chain and related departments that ensure merchandise compliance with FDA and other regulatory agencies as related to storage, handling and related requirements as appropriate. The position will partner closely with business units across the Company including but not limited to Supply Chain, Merchandising, Legal and Loss Prevention. This position is also responsible for educating, mentoring, the QA/QC team within the Private Label and Supply Chain organization to establish product specifications and quality assurance processes in furtherance to business objectives. The Manager Quality & FDA Compliance will ensure that all on-going private label product production as well as incoming merchandise shipments meet the Company's quality and compliance standards and ensure that all related quality and compliance issues are resolved. CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide leadership and technical guidance to Private Label, Supply Chain and other team members in achieving department strategic, tactical, and other goals related to quality and compliance. Establish global quality standards for the Company and ensure on-going production of private label brands and third-party merchandise meets defined standards as appropriate. Develop SOPs and implement quality policies and procedures to ensure compliance of cosmetics and OTC products with international, federal and state regulations Partner with outside suppliers and oversee and communicate the progress of production and quality projects to applicable team members. Direct efforts to resolve quality issues that may occur at the Company's private label contract manufacturers. Oversee and review non-conformances, deviations, and investigations to determine root cause, ensure corrective actions are implemented and process improvements are realized. Coordinate the resolution of product quality issues and ensure compliance concerns are appropriately communicated throughout the organization. Establish and implement a quality audit program with Company suppliers to ensure compliance of contract manufacturing operations. Ensure all quality records and standard operating procedures (SOP's) are developed, maintained, updated, and systematically stored. Ensure product specifications and QC processes are current. Audit quality documents from Company contract manufacturers to ensure all quality requirements are met. Establish and monitor a total quality management (TQM) environment with private label suppliers driving process ownership and accountability to their lowest attainable levels. Ensure timely, efficient and effective execution of work assignments and maintain conformance to established quality expectations Support other projects and initiatives as necessary Job Skills: Deep technical expertise in the cosmetic, OTC, chemical and personal care industry required 5-7 plus years related experience with demonstrated ability to identify, define and implement quality systems. Material knowledge of [cGMP] systems as applied to the cosmetics, OTCs, and medical devices Must have a thorough knowledge of the intent, meaning, interpretation, and application of FDA and ICH regulations. Knowledge of international regulations, guidelines and practices for cosmetics and OTC products preferred Ability to serve as primary host for FDA and/or notified bodies. Strong working knowledge or analytical and microbiological methods and practices, attributes and variable inspection. Ability to communicate and interpret technical data to a variety of business partners at all levels. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations experience and management ASQ GMP certification, Quality Manager Certification, and Quality audit/or certification is a plus. Experience with handling GMP audits by FDA Education: At least 5-7 years of experience in quality assurance, working in manufacturing or within warehouse inspection environment At least 5 years of experience in cosmetic, OTC, medical device and/or personal care regulations - full product cycle exposure A./B.S. degree, B.A. degree in chemistry a plus Competencies: Excellent focus, analytical and organization skills Ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize business projects Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with the legal team, business teams and executives Effective communication skills, both with internal and external partners Energetic, positive attitude Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional environment Attention to detail #LI-LB1 COLORADO PAY RANGE At this time, Colorado residents are not eligible for this position.
