Job description

Purpose Responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of club specific strategies in the U. S. Drive implementation of club specific strategies through day-to-day contact with identified MLS Clubs: from in-market contract re-negotiation (in-market), strategic activation around key moments, jersey creation and storytelling, execution, player identification, to delivery of product and reporting/recaps before. Work across functions and categories to develop, manage and execute attack plans designed to grow soccer in North America through identified MLS Clubs. Ultimately build and leverage strategic adidas relationship with MLS Clubs to tell the brand story on the world's biggest stage, soccer.


- Responsible for managing, servicing, leveraging, and strengthening relationship with identified MLS Clubs on a day-to-day basis in line with the strategic direction
- Work with Sr. Sports Marketing Manager and horizontally across categories to develop and drive Club Strategy, which will serve as the basis for approach and activation with identified MLS Clubs
- Develop, manage, and execute activation plans for strategic product launches and identified moments with MLS Clubs that will strengthen relationships with consumers and grow soccer culture in North America; responsible for all recaps and reporting there of
- Strengthen and maintain adidas reputation and build long-term partnerships with MLS Club stakeholders at all levels
- Ensure maximization of revenue streams with identified MLS Club partners while growing the game of soccer and soccer culture in North America
- Maintain regular communication with MLS Club partners to ensure all commitments are fulfilled, maximized, and superior service has been provided
- Manage and deliver contracted MLS Club product (1st Team, Youth Academy & Marketing).
- Maintain regular communication with sales force and key accounts to co-develop strategic business plans
- Manage budget associated with identified MLS Clubs
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of the North American soccer landscape
- Ability to exercise judgment, think critically and make strategic decisions while maintaining a professional attitude in fast paced, changing environment
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage priorities to accomplish multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines
- Holistic thinker who is detail oriented team player that can establish and drive end-to-end strategies and initiatives for the brand and across categories
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to think strategically, identify challenges, and develop innovative solutions accordingly
- Ability to present effectively to groups, including members of all organizational levels, and drive collaboration for strategic level planning
- Team Player
- Ability to successfully influence decisions and outcomes both internally and externally, while maintaining healthy, productive, successful relationship
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
- Ability to travel year-round, extensively during peak periods
- Strong negotiation skills and experience a plus
- Four-year college or university degree, emphasis in marketing or business preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for a degree.
