Job description

As Market Director, Asset Protection you serve as Market Lead in AP execution, and provide hands on direction and assistance to all stores and Divisions within assigned area in all asset protection related areas. As a Market Director; Asset Protection, you will drive the Asset Protection and shortage program in assigned stores in order to achieve their shortage goals and therefore maximize profitability. Key partners include Divisional VP, Store Managers, AP Leaders, Sr. Regionals, and Regional Director of Stores. Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Drive and exceed sales goals by developing & executing division's asset protection strategies
- Identify business-driving, shortage and profitability challenges, and provide leadership support to store and division teams to determine solutions.
- Provide hands on direction and assistance to assigned districts and stores based on statistical results below trend, historical performance or increased shortage indicators.
- Manage and monitor internal and external case productivity and recoveries; provide investigations leadership & participation of asset protection initiatives when necessary.
- Manage and communicate all incidents with impact to business or brand protection.
- Conduct assessments of AP or operational performance that impacts shortage or safety, and actively works with divisional and store leadership in the development and implementation of action plans to improve performance.
- Provide direction and coaching to DVP's and STM's/GSM's in their execution of Asset Protection and shortage reduction strategies. Continually evaluate and coach for improvement.
- Serve as point of contact and expert in emergency management incidents, provide leadership and direction to stores, and serve as primary communication source with the central team, regional team, and business continuity.
- Support Asset Protection people strategies in assigned markets, including focus on sourcing talent to fill open jobs, reducing turnover, and ensuring appropriate training.
- Direct AP Store Leadership/Captain Succession Planning activities; identify, mentor and train Top Talent AP Colleagues for growth. Create an inclusive culture that supports growth and performance.


- College degree preferred. A minimum of 5-7 years of Asset Protection leadership or related experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
- Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team, and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to implement programs through effective communication skills in formal and informal settings.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to effectively plan and execute strategies. Effective prioritizing and time management skills.
- Strong leadership profile; Ability to build partnerships and direct teams. Commitment to exemplifying the highest integrity and professional business standards
Physical Requirements
- Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department
- May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, color vision and climbing ladders
- Frequent use of computers and other technology necessary to perform job duties, including handheld electronic equipment.
- This position involves regular walking, standing, hearing, and talking. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception and focus adjustment.
