A
role in Target Marketing Guest Insights
(MGI) means being a champion for our current and future guests, and
inspiring the organization to act in their best interest. Here, you’ll lead the
consumer research that helps Target Marketing seize our most valuable and
important opportunities. You’ll distill relevant information into insights and
implications that answer the ever-critical question: “So what?” Your influence
will help spark original ideas and actionable strategies for our enterprise
partners including Marketing, Merchants, Stores, Digital and others.

As an
Analyst, MGI, this role will help to define, analyze and socialize insights
that make a difference to how guests experience and build a relationship with
Target. In partnership with MGI leaders
and external research agencies, you will support projects that include primary,
secondary and competitive research focused understanding Target’s consumer
segmentation strategies. Individuals in this role must be able to quickly
establish rapport, credibility, trust and respect with peers and internal
clients. Your commitment to
understanding guest attitudes and behaviors and identifying actionable insights
will directly impact Target's business results.

Research
& Program Management:
- In
collaboration with a Sr. Analyst and /or a Senior Insights Manager, as
well as external research agencies, execute and interpret a variety of
quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to understand consumer
perceptions, competitive environments and Target
performance. Activities include, but are not limited to:

- Mine
existing primary research, tracking programs, CRM databases and
syndicated sources to ensure a holistic understanding of consumer and
retail trends
- Co-create with internal and external partners
throughout the process to maximize project outcome
- Manage key project work stream timelines, budgets and
agency billing

- Build
a solid knowledge base on the guest, competitive landscape and changing
dynamics influencing consumer behavior

current on industry research best practices
Insights
Development:
- Contribute
and, at times, lead primary and secondary research work-streams to deliver
clear, timely, actionable insights
- Act
as a story-teller, synthesizing
results from data and research to provide insights and recommendations
- Lead the development of
presentation materials for relevant projects and
ad-hoc requests, customizing output for the needs of each client group

Internal
Client Relationships:

Develop partnerships with key clients to
prioritize research needs and triage ad hoc requests

Work with clients to define scope and expected
deliverables of business questions

Provide
a consumer-centric point of view and help build guest empathy with partners
Vendor

Lead
day-to-day relationships with external research agencies

Contribute
to performance feedback for external research agencies<br /> About you:

Bachelor's degree with strong
academic performance
-
1-3 years of relevant experience in
consumer insights, shopper insights, market research, competitive intelligence,
marketing or media preferred
-
Strong analytical, decision-making, project
management and communication skills
-
Track record of success in dealing
effectively with a variety of projects
-
Ability to synthesize and clearly
communicate findings from data and research to focus on the critical issues
