Job description

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Material Quality Standards Manager to drive standardization and establish manufacturing capability expectations for Nike material and color quality. The candidate will create programs and provide appropriate direction and training to establish new end-to-end material color management methods across Footwear, Apparel and Accessories. Responsibilities include management of material and color standards tools, end-use application, and best-practice procedures to ensure end-to-end consistency of performance deliverables. The candidate must have proven textile manufacturing and material development knowledge with strong competencies in end-to-end product creation and material and color manufacturing. The ability to identify and problem-solve across technical textile development and production operations is required to prevent, identify, and resolve risk factors of potential impact to material performance.
- Material and Color standards and palette management
- End-use application and validation of materials and color standards
- Quality performance reporting and communication
- Standards communication and documentation
- Assessments to determine quality process gaps and capability improvement opportunities
- Cross-functional collaboration to manage standards across dimensions and manufacturing partners
- Monitor and review materials quality performance against standards influence and drive actions
- Promote culture of quality and performance improvements across Nike and partners.
- Establish clearly defined quality standards metrics and measurements for data analysis, scoring, and reporting; performance against material specifications and color standards.
- Plan and manage projects and resources to achieve material quality with efficiency and cost results aligned to optimize benefits for Nike's business.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
This individual will work with Materials Integrity teammates to establish overall Materials and Color quality improvement model. In addition to working directly with cross-functional Material and Color Developers and other partners across GSM and Consumer Creation.

Profile

WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor of Science, major in Textile Science/Engineering/Technology/Chemistry, Color Science, Materials Science/Engineering, Material Design or related field is required.
- 5 years of Material or Color Quality Management experience or a PhD with 2 years work experience. 8+ years of work experience or other relevant subject area.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, attention to details, organisational skills, analytical skills, and research/investigative abilities.
- Able to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
- Appreciation of other subject areas such as product engineering, technical development, design, product development, etc.
- Knowledge and experience in global partner relationships
- Strong sense of ownership, ability to work with different partners (great teammate).
- Experience working on/with cross-functional teams and providing project management support
- Experience with data entry, data management and investigating in an information management system or complex database
- Solid attention to detail and process orientation
- Problem structuring and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work within an expansive corporate network and diverse manufacturing environments.
