The Leagues, Athletes & Grassroots Brand Marketing Team sits within the North America Brand Organization.
This team is a geo team of on-the ground go-getters who bring creativity to partners & athlete relationships while focusing on earned opportunities, integrating into larger brand narratives and helping drive our membership ecosystem.
They exist to Create, Serve, and Retain Demand for the Brand through the stories, products, people & partners that best define our core brand values.
They consistently stay close to the ground to listen for stories that will move athletes* inspirationally and physically. They take Nike's partnerships from macro to micro to macro, and they undeniably stand for sport.
We're looking for a Brand Manager, Track & Field who will drive an integrated Brand Marketing offense focused on maximizing our relationships with our North America Track & Field athletes and the USA Track & Field Association. This person should have an understanding of the sport of Track & Field. They should also be strategically driven, creative in thought/approach and well versed in the motives of Gen Z & Gen Alpha. An empathetic outlook should be at the heart of everything they do. Confidence is key, being humble is what we want.
This person will be a part of the team responsible for comprehensive strategy, planning, and execution of Brand Plans and Marketing Briefs for our defining Track & Field athletes, key USA Track & Field moments and any additional athlete focused product or content opportunities. They will drive end-to-end, integrated and networked processes to maximize story telling opportunities leading with our North America Track & Field athletes.
This candidate should have experience leading an integrated team, driving strategy and executing at the highest level, as well as being able to brief in and review creative work from Agency of Internal Studio Partners. They should have experience working with athletes and/or celebrities and their representatives, as well as third-party partnerships.
We are looking for the modern marketer with a hardworking background in digital & IRL marketing. They should be insights & data driven while keeping the consumer at the center. Most importantly, they should know when to follow the numbers and when to follw their "gut."
Your year will be based around the leagues/sport schedule, getting ahead of big events & athlete moments including The Olympics & Olympic qualifying, Pre-Fontaine Classic and any other key Diamond League events, Signature Athlete Product Launches & staying attune to the our athletes, the USA Track & Field Association and the associated storylines. You will spend time in athlete business meetings, leading athlete brand plans with your team, brainstorming with Sports Marketing, and working directly with Sports Marketing and our athletes to maximize each relationship.
You will report to the Brand Director, NA Track & Field. You will work directly with many Brand sub-functions (Brand Narrative, Catalyst, Direct Marketing, Mens/Womens/Kids Brand, Creative Brand) along with a ton of non-brand functions leading with Sports Marketing but also including, Finance, Business Affairs, Legal, Design, Apparel, Marketplace, Merchandising, Comms, HR, Membership.
