Job Overview:

Merchandising at Macy's, Inc. is responsible for developing product strategies, building compelling assortments across our categories and identifying meaningful opportunities that drive top and bottom-line financial results. Applying analytical rigor, structured problem-solving and strategy support, this position will support the Senior Director of Merchandise & Digital Strategy who reports to the Chief Merchandising Officer.

In this role you will:

  • Support cross-functional projects, gaining exposure to other high-level functional teams & chief partners
  • Work on the biggest impact problems facing Macy's and the retail industry today
  • Bring to life strategic partnership opportunities that drive accelerated growth
  • Regularly receive exposure to the highest levels of the organization, working on projects directly for Chiefs and SVPs
  • Gain exposure to all parts of the retail business
Reporting to the Senior Director, Merchandise & Digital Strategy, the Principal will be responsible for creating executive-level presentations, analyzing data, strategizing and supporting solutions and deliverables to merchandising leadership. The team is focused on promoting growth and addressing the evolving needs of the business and the Principal is an integral part of this work. The Principal will support the Senior Director in data-driven recommendations and actively shape scalable execution

plans within merchandising and across other functions. The Principal will deliver compelling presentations to enhance decision making and propose solutions to open questions and risks.

Essential Functions:

  • Create Executive-level presentations and other materials as needed
  • Support Senior Director of Merchandise & Digital strategy across a variety of projects & deliverables
  • Apply analytical rigor and creative problem-solving skills to strategic business problems
  • Synthesize key insights and formulate actionable recommendations
  • Establish trusting relationships with key stakeholders across functions
  • Work with internal partners and cross-functional teams in both strategy formulation and execution phases of projects & initiatives
  • Ability to understand, organize and communicate complex information in an easily understandable format tailored to a variety of audiences
  • Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Profile

Qualifications and Competencies:
  • 4 Year Degree required

  • 5+ Years of Experience

  • Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner.

  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels.

  • Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs.

  • Knowledge of MS Office computer programs are required
