As part of the R&I 360 deployment, the Augmented Beauty Tech
Incubator Team is responsible for driving beauty tech innovations. This team
collaborates with various departments in L'Oreal Research & Innovation,
both domestically and internationally, as well as external partners.
The
L'Oréal Tech Incubator (Augmented Beauty group) is looking for an ambitious and
entrepreneurial Program Manager to lead
highly visible cross-functional projects alongside senior engineers, product
managers and designers within the group and join our team in Jersey City, New Jersey. The Program Manager is responsible for tracking the project plan
as well as managing complex projects staffed with multidisciplinary engineering
and product teams. They will plan, track, and facilitate project
activities and deliverables according to established timelines and budgets.
With input from relevant stakeholders, the project manager helps define the
scope of work, project goals, relevant milestones, and drive project
deliverables. They also create and closely track realistic development
schedules and timelines, helps identify resource needs both internally and with
external partners, and creates detailed budgets for each phase in the
development process. The Project Manager will report on a day-to-day basis to
the Category Lead.
This
position will require occasional domestic and international travel (10-15%) in
compliance with Local, State, Federal, and International regulations.
You Will . . .
- With the guidance of a Project
Category Lead (PL), manage the day-to-day technical product
development efforts (hardware, software, algorithm depending on project
needs) from project initiation to closure (often product launch)
- Closely track budget and
schedules to understand work stream dependencies and sequencing
- Clearly communicate
expectations for work output and completion dates to technical team
members and project sponsor
- Coordinate project activities
to ensure goals and objectives are identified, documented and accomplished
within agreed schedules and recognized constraints
- Lead quality project meetings
including providing agendas and meeting minutes
- Actively manage project scope
by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved by the
project sponsor prior to execution
- Coordinate parallel path design
efforts as contingency planning for high-risk designs
- Track and report on progress
towards project milestones
- Motivate and inspire team
members when needed to meet milestones
- Develop a strong positive work
relationship with the client (often an internal brand partner) that is
based on responsiveness, clear communication, and serving their specific
product development needs at any given time
You Have . . .
- 4+ years of experience leading
cross-functional projects; engineering/product hardware teams (Mechanical
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Embedded Software) is a plus
- BS or MS in Mechanical
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant engineering degree
is a plus
- Experience in Consumer
Electronics, Consumer Products, Consumer Packaged Goods, Medical devices,
or other consumer-facing and/or highly technical industries preferred
- Demonstrated experience in
creating a detailed, rapidly evolving schedule with complex
interdependencies
- Passion for highly refined user
experiences and an eye for detail
- Excellent presentation skills,
including slide deck creation
- Excellent verbal and written
communication skills with both engineers and clients, with focus on
presenting technical information in a manner that facilitates decision
making
- Strong organizational skills
with meticulous attention to documenting design activities throughout the
development process
- Experienced in Agile project
management principles
- A positive can-do attitude
You Are . . .
- Proficient in MS Project,
SmartSheet, JIRA and other project management tools
- Authorized to work in the US on
a permanent, ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the
future
- Able to travel domestically and
internationally in compliance with local, State, Federal, and
International regulations
