Under the direction of the National Account and Education Manager, this position will be responsible for implementing national brand and retailer strategies; building and executing regional business and education plans; and delivering training programs to drive the awareness and sales of Vichy, La Roche-Posay and CeraVe core business within respective regions.
You will educate Beauty Advisors by providing them with product knowledge and service and selling skills, utilizing all available resources, inclusive of your existing skills and knowledge of our business, to deliver exemplary support to influence sales growth and positively impact the customer experience within the drugstore and mass retail channel.
In order to excel in this position, you must be entrepreneurial, possess confidence, exercise persuasive communication skills and have a passion for motivating through education. You must possess an innate curiosity for brand development and desire to impact the ACD Divisions overall progression and success through your individual contribution. It is essential that you have the ability to inspire and have a contagious enthusiasm for the beauty industry.
The overall objective is to plan, coordinate and execute scalable education and sales support initiatives to maximize retailer touchpoints in designated region, driving product sales by influencing and developing the skills of Beauty Advisors through L'Oreal Dermatological Beauty Brands' education programs. You will successfully manage the development and execution of annual business plans for your territory, consistently meeting or exceeding KPIs and ensuring divisional and marketing strategies are implemented within the designated region.
Operational Partnerships
- Responsible for daily, monthly and seasonal tracking of total retail performance within territory. Understand territory performance metrics, identify key market challenges, and implement action plans to achieve objectives
- Develop action plans with retailer partners to increase productivity and performance in stores
- Cultivate working relationships with all levels of retailer management (district, store, and beauty) through consistent communication and ongoing analytics of their market, securing incremental partnership opportunities
- Strategize with retailer partner(s) to develop annual business plans, inclusive of training strategies, focus-door action plans, territory-wide event calendars and merchandising objectives
- Conduct quarterly business planning meetings to develop strategies that support the achievement of sell-through sales objectives, inclusive of: monthly conference calls, quarterly trainings, in-store event days, sales contests and more
- Facilitate monthly touch bases in person or virtually
- In partnership with Critical Market Manager, assess skills and developmental needs. Develop a comprehensive plan to train and develop Beauty Advisors
- Maintain communication with Critical Market Manager to ensure consistent in-store messaging
- Develop working relationships with DSM partners(s) throughout your respective territory to collaborate and drive forward support for L'Oréal ACD across key retailersField Engagement & Education Management
Responsible for implementing business and education strategies across territory as established by corporate guidelines, working in partnership with retail partners across various retailers, inclusive of and not limited to: CVS and Walgreens.
- Expert knowledge of top customers, industry and market
- Lead the execution of education plans for all accounts within territory to influence sales and increase brand love for L'Oreal Dermatological Beauty
- Adapt training programs to custom-fit needs of account and level of audience, when applicable for respective retailer(s)
- Serve as a resource for in-depth product knowledge and point of sale expertise to establish brand authority
- Conduct trainings in the field on topics including and not limited to: service and selling skills, skin indications, L'Oréal dermatological skincare brands, product solutions and display and merchandising best-practices with the objective of meeting productivity goals and service standards
- Facilitate all Beauty Advisor new hire onboarding, seasonal innovation and supplemental training programs
- Facilitate cluster trainings within territory when applicable
- Support and negotiate monthly retailer conference calls focusing on: skin indications, products and promotional activity, using the monthly Train the Trainer presentation deck as a guide
- Facilitate National BA/BC conference calls
- Negotiate additional conference calls and retailer training programs, executing in partnership with the training team, adhering to the guidelines of the overall education strategy
- Provide updates to all partners communicating new brand initiatives and product launches
- Partner with Critical Market Manager to ensure top-volume and focus doors are included in all training opportunities
- Plan, manage, and participate in field activations as driven by event/launch calendar
- Plan territory-wide strategies for beauty consultant-led in-store events tied to retailer promotional calendars and brand focuses
- Support beauty consultants with education materials, sampling support and any additional tools necessary to create brand awareness and drive sales
- Actively track all in-store event results through "event tracker"
- Maintain monthly store visit calendar. Focus in-store time in key focus and top-volume doors (determined seasonally)
- Negotiate and secure opportunities to build incremental field activations and trainings to grow brand awareness and sales in stores
- Manage New Hire Kits, sample/GWP and gratis shipments across territory ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend and participate in sales and management training meetings and events as directed by management
- Deliver expert knowledge during virtual 1:1s, live chat, in-person events, trade shows, etc when needed
- May be required to serve as talent for retailer training videos when applicable
- May be required to manage a professional account(s) on social media & social commerce platforms like IG & TikTok, in alignment with US market needs and brand directionADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work independently from a home office, while managing a consistent meeting calendar with retail accounts and business partners
- Quarterly travel with retail business partners (SAB/BAE) to visit focus or top-volume doors (post pandemic)
- Maintain regular meeting cadence with retail partners and plan virtual or in-person meetings - SAB or BAE
- Use Salesforce and MapAnything to maximize effectiveness
- Manage 90-day calendar and enter activities in advance
- Log all activities - trainings, conference calls, field visits, meeting notes weekly
- Manage business development budgets
- T&E and car stock budgets for promotional and merchandising activities
- Stay abreast of all emails, reporting, checklists and adhere to all deadlines
- Arrange and manage sites and facility selection for training and/or meetings; negotiate pricing; arrange training or meeting functions, etc., adhering to budgetary guidelines
- Prepare monthly reports, which will include and are not limited to: a calendar of training activities, a summary of feedback from trainings, and any and all corporate required forms such as expense reports
- Responsible for daily, monthly and seasonal tracking of total retail performance within territory
- Share insights and knowledge gained with corporate and NYO teams to impact future training programs and raise awareness for the brand at point-of-sale. Provide feedback to NYO teams regarding products, needs and competitive activitiesREQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree required
- Passion, interest and knowledge of the cosmetic/skincare industry
- 4+ years in sales or education preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, PPT, Outlook, TEAMS, SharePoint
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and presentation). Ability to listen and understand the needs of internal/external customer
- Strong collaborative and influencing skills are essential to work with cross-functional teams
- Must have strong developmental and indirect management experiences which have been demonstrated by positive past sales performance
- Ability to interact with all levels of management in a fast paced, high growth, continually evolving environment
- Must have outstanding organizational skills with strong attention to details
- Effective planning and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Must be able to travel to training sessions, sales meetings, trade shows, and corporate office as necessary to meet the training objectives and business needs of account executives and accounts (up to 50% of time)
