Job description

Innovation is oxygen for NIKE, Inc., and the company depends on its passionate, global workforce to breathe originality and curiosity into everything they do. The Nike Advanced Innovation team strives for lighter, faster, bigger, smarter, smaller, more efficient, more sustainable, and more personal. They imagine, research, analyze and invent the next industry-changing technology to advance athletic performance. In roles that span research, design, materials, and manufacturing, the Advanced Innovation team looks to the future and focuses on making the seemingly impossible, possible.
This is a unique opportunity to join Valiant Labs, Nike's new business incubator. We're a fast-moving entrepreneurial team currently exploring the edges of possibility! We move with speed and purpose, taking calculated risks and failing fast - all with one goal in mind: serving consumers in new and unimagined ways.
We're looking for an experienced Senior-level Product Manager to help us conceptualize and develop one or more strategic products in Valiant Labs. The selected candidate will play a key role in the development of product strategy, roadmap/backlog creation, requirements definition, functional design, and driving the development of these products in collaboration with Valiant Labs entrepreneurs, project managers/scrum masters, technical leaders, and other team members, for final adoption by Nike Direct.
You will apply your expertise to interpret business challenges to build, optimize, and recommend products, processes, and services. You will get to network with various Innovation and Nike Direct teams and build positive relationships to drive innovation across the organization!
This corporate innovation role requires the candidate to be a driven, innovative, collaborative teammate, comfortable with ambiguity who can wear many hats. You love digging into complex data and generating understandable insights. You know how to balance the needs of the consumer and the business, understand and drive technology development, and are a terrific problem solver who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty.
You'll be helping a scrappy team (or two) of self-starters to envision and drive the future. To do that, you will work collaboratively to create and accelerate the product and go-to-market strategy. Lead the product development effort through your proficiency and experience using agile methodologies, tools, and rituals. You will be responsible for centralized product documentation, ensuring concepts, decisions, and strategies are captured to support knowledge management. You will own the aligned product backlog and roadmap in support of the business strategy, creating and prioritizing product requirements, user stories, UAT criteria, and other necessary artifacts.
You will embed with cross-functional teams to execute, scale, deliver, and iterate across the full technology stack, attending daily standups, effort planning, and other necessary meetings that drive value and impact. You will be responsible for defining key success measures, implementing analytics, and delivering reports and dashboards.
In addition, you will work to support the Product Management function across the Nike Valiant Labs portfolio, providing consulting for new ideas, supporting the optimization of the Product Management process, and meaningfully participating in the Product Management community of practice to ensure knowledge transfer, creation of aligned best practices, process improvements, and optimizations.
You will be part of the Nike Valiant Labs Product Studio and report to the Head of Product. In this role, you will be dedicated to supporting start-up concepts and platform capabilities. Working with cross-functional partners across the Advanced Innovation team and the rest of NIKE, Inc. This role will work closely with teams across Strategy, Design, Engineering (software/hardware/platform), and select business partners.
