Job description

Senior Merchandise Planner - BBW

The Senior Merchandise Planner for Bath & Body Works is responsible for the planning/forecasting of product merchandising categories. Generates and analyzes data, analyzes and revises the financial plans in support of the business initiatives, budget and strategic objectives. Reports to Manager, Director or AVP of Merchandise Planning. Manages Merchandise Planners or Associate Planners. Must possess the ability to:

- Coordinate and communicate financial strategies & interpretation for stores channel, assortment architecture, pricing and promotions, merchandise plans, margin targets, purchases, exit strategies, timing, planning calendar

- Maintain SKU level forecasts that are updated monthly or more frequently based on needs of the business, inclusive of units, sales dollars, and margin. Identifies trend changes and impacts to business

- Collaborate with BBWS & BBWD Inventory teams on launch & reactive buys.

- Work with Central Planning in identifying targets for pre-season and in-season

- Highlight the business opportunities and risks associated with the current financial position and actual performance of the business

- Present business trends and forecast to management in weekly business review, monthly MPR (Monthly Planning Review) and other meetings as needed

- Develop long term forecasts to act as basis for seasonal architecture to meet business needs

- Review and provide seasonal hindsights for cross-functional team

- Provide the leadership and the necessary formal and informal training, including one-on-one development, needed to support a team that contributes consistent financial growth to the business

- Actively pursue growth and development opportunities, continually finding ways to improve

- Communicate openly and directly; accept responsibility and champion ideas despite challenges

- 5-7+ years retail planning or relevant business experience

- Proven track record of being an active partner and team player across multiple departments

- Organized with strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

- Expert technical skill proficiency using Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint

- Expert technical skill proficiency using Arthur and/or MSI tools preferred; other retail planning systems experience

- Bachelor's degree - finance, operations, economics, business, statistics a plus
