Job description

As an Associate, Project Management (APM), you will have direct responsibility over the administration and implementation of all assigned projects. You will coordinate with contracted suppliers and store management to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget and at the highest quality. You will be the primary point of contact for the Store Environment teams with regard to disseminating information and facilitating critical project decisions from groundbreaking to grand opening. The emphasis is on improving the customer shopping experience. You must be adaptable to change and consistently champion new initiatives that drive costs lower and save time. You must have a strong sense of urgency and work well under pressure in a collaborative team environment. This position is required to also perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions
- Management of Projects and task execution including oversight of multiple projects and supplier coordination.
- Coordinate with store management teams for completion of all projects in assigned stores, including infrastructure, energy, customer facing, environmental, etc.
- The APM executes both Store Environment funded Capital Projects as well as those delegated by other internal business partners, including: Regional Directors of Stores, Asset Protection, Store Operations, Wedding Gift Registry/My Stylist, Lease Business Office and Merchant organizations.
- Networking and partnering with other Macy's Inc. departments including Stores, Strategic Procurement, Energy, Risk Management, Store Design, Planning and Capital Control.
- Manage financial commitments to ensure projects remain within budget
- Strategic initiatives to further develop, refine and improve management of project operations
- Work with stores, district and regional partners and suppliers for quick resolution of property damage claims
- Support Store Environment team and stores organization to grow sales
- Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality

Profile

- Bachelor or Associate's Degree. A focus in Project Management, Engineering or Architecture preferred.
- Master's degree also preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in Project/Facilities Management in a corporate/retail environment preferred.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays. Travel as required
- Strong leadership profile and excellent negotiation skills.
- Fluency in MS Office Suite applications incl. MS Access and Project, and high comfort level with technology
- Strong financial and administrative skills

Physical Requirements
- Requires periods of walking, standing, communicating, reaching, crouching and climbing ladders
- Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions
